yea thats the plan once I figure out what lift kit I am going withIf you are going to 38s. I would still recommend regear to 4.88s for the ecod. You want to have 8th gear usable. Also. Those tires. Truces for the axles and moly axles. You are talking about a lot of unspun weight with 22s.
$1k to install that lift? Holy shit I'm in the wrong line of workif $2500 is your budget, go mopar lift. The kits is around 1600 plus about $1k in labor to install.
You aren't going to find much better at that price point.
4.56s. Maybe 4.88s if you're going to run 40s I'd say... heavy wheels or not. Even for 40s I'd still probably lean towards 4.56s. Diesel will spin them up fine all day but don't want to be screaming down the highway. If you are going to 38s. I would still recommend regear to 4.88s for the ecod. You want to have 8th gear usable. R u still running the stock fox shocks today? Here you go
Metalcloak | Jeep JT Gladiator True Dual Rate Lift Kit Suspension
I started with the 3.5" True dual rate on my JT. Upgraded the rear as budget allowed to Gamechanger components. I am running the stock Rubicon Fox shocks and have no problems with them. Others here say they are too soft but I haven't had any issues with them. I Have a T-flex spacer kit on my JLRUD and went with Fox 2.0 shocks on it and feel they are too harsh. This is just my opinion.
She sits nice!! May just go with a 3” or 3.5” lift after seeing your picsThis was the day the lift was installed actually in the shop's parking lot:
Yep. My lift, which is bigger than 2.5”, but way smaller than 4.5, with 37’s. Comes with major upgrades to make it a daily driver. Axle shafts, 5.13:1 gears, new rear driveshaft, adjustable control arms, upgraded track bars front and rear, upgraded drag link, tie rod, sector shaft brace, sumo springs, etc. it’s a fantastic daily driver and rock crawler, but with just springs and shocks and 37’s, it would have been a dumpster fire.In addition to all that, 37 and up really should be a regear as well... 37's really need 4.56-4.88, and the 38's will need 4.88-5.13.
With the tire and wheel size combo you're thinking about, I can guess that the only offroading that you plan to ever see is your front lawn (when washing the Jeep), the amount of flex you'll see in the parking lot at the mall will probably never compress the stock shocks to matter...
Mine is an EcoD. Select engine when ordering. Also would you happen to know if this kit applies to the EcoD? I Know they are heavier so I want to make sure I get the right kit
