Well CARP!

Add me to that club, USAF 1974-2003!

Coundn't find the pig tail for the accessory lights, not a priority, another day,

I just ventured to a place I have never gone before!

Geeesh, that would be a great line to be used in some Sci-Fi series!

The MOPAR mud flaps complicate the process a lil.

Main battery disconnected and on Tickle Me Elmo Charge.

ESS Battery was on TMEC all night.

No sparks yet, about to drop the ESS Battery.

Send me happy, fuzzy, sparkly, Unicorn thoughts for a successful mission!

Hope I don't kill the OVERLORD, have an appointment at 1830.

Positive energy headed your way.
I like the MOPAR mud flaps well enough, but yeah, they do make this situation a bit more complex. Keep spare POM rivets on hand!

My father warned me years ago - when you get older you'll find there are time thieves.
He said someone stole a day out of my week, a month is no longer even 28 days, let alone 31, and a year is only 10 months.
He was suggesting that when you get older, you enter some sort of time warp.
To me that makes sense - as you increase in speed toward the speed of light, time slows for you, but as you get older you get slower so apparently the reverse is also true.
Just goes to prove that the older you get the faster it goes.....the faster it goes the older you get.
Mother nature is the great equalizer. No way to outrun her!

I have seen it explained as a sign of aging and the brain's neurons that processes the memories dulling and deadening.

Yea ok, at this age I made trough The Nam. now I think when I wake up it's a great day if not it's not going to be my problem .
Had orders for U-Tapao, redlined three days prior to departure.

They decided to send me to another location where I could not understand the language if the indigenous people.

Shreveport, Louisiana.

Got spooked.

A couple of sparks when I was connecting the ESS Battery.

Please, I hope I din't fry nuthin'.

Hoping just the systems seeking power.

It starts and runs, so I must done okay.

Now to button her up.

Shreveport? They still speak English there. You need to get down to the Bayou country to hear a real foreign language. I retired the first time back in 2004 from the Fire Department. Took two weeks off and went to work investigating fires and still at it, although I can't run a scoop as fast as I used to. I'll be 65 this year and don't plan on retiring anytime soon, but I will be a full blown member of the KMA club when I get on Medicare.

I can't imagine the culture shock moving from New York Shreveport, LA! It's a shock for this MS boy when I have to travel to Chicago or Atlanta, but there isn't that much difference anymore, not like it was when you moved. You probably didn't think they had indoor plumbing when your first arrived at the Fort!

First big shock, learning what a Jalapeno Pepper was.

While driving.

Into the Main Gate.

For the first time.

Gate Guard was a little shocked, until he saw the plates.

Yup. There's things that are "on" so when you connect, you'll see small sparks.

Unless you have a can of smoke handy to put it back in, the time to panic is when the smoke leaks out. Damned hard to get it back in.

Enjoy listening to them talk on "Swamp People". Almost every sentence is "........ and everything".

Here in Iowa for a drink with lunch we may ask for "pop" when they ask what we want to drink, and parts of the country look at you like " he died 10 years ago".

I've confused people when I say we live not far from the east mixmaster and they ask what the #$% is that??

We don't drink Pop, that's dad. We drink Coke (that equals Sprite, Coke, Diet Coke etc), water or tea. Tea is sweet tea (almost syrup) with ice.

My wife worked in a hospital and a new nurse and her husband moved in from up north (Connecticut I think). They had started going to church where we went. One of the first Sundays they attended, they passed a pond out by the highway and a little gator (8'-10') was laying up on the bank sunning himself. She told my wife that wildlife belongs in the woods. Small shock to her system. I explained to her that we moved into his yard, he didn't move into ours.

I remember things from 50 years ago better than what I did a week ago. I miss going fishing at the beach on Long Island and not seeing another truck or fisherman within a mile. Driving along the nude beach was a bonus. Not a designated beach but the police never hassled them. By the late 90s it looked like Walmarts parking lot. Ah the good old days.
