Also there are 2 can bus connection points on the back panel. I choose to connect to the one on the drivers side. I figured it didn't matter which CAN bus connection point I choose. The CAN bus has to be working correctly otherwise the backup camera wouldnt be working right?
It depends. You can access that though without removing the seat. There is a plastic port you can open up.

Do it EXACTLY as Jimmy pictured:

That is the driver side rear connection point.

The buttons are relayed to the CVPM via the CAN bus. Switching the truck into reverse I believe communicates a bit different - that's why my front camera "worked" with the 2020 CVPM while trans was in reverse, but did not when using the 8.4 buttons.

It is possible you have a CAN bus wiring issue.

That looks like the drivers side which is what I used. I only had one cable plugged in there. My wire is the green and black one.

Is it possible your CAN polarity is reversed?

I double check that before I put everything back together. I however wasn't confident in how I pinned this connector to the CVPM. The pins didn't seat well, but I assumed it was fine cause the CVPM was working.

I should have just ordered the harness from Jimmy but I was confident I could do it myself

I am thinking the CVPM is "default" in Rear Camera, that's why your rear works.

You shift to reverse, the truck tells the 8.4 to switch to camera input - works.

Your double zoom button - simple setting, fixed when you change it.

You press ANY camera buttons on the 8.4 - none of your stuff works - CAN bus problem. @Jimmy07 may know how to debug this better. Actually I am sure he does.

My opinion.

This doesnt solve the problem with wiper stalk being reversed. It also appears Vishnu has this same problem so the harness we ordered might not be right

Silly one here but I wonder if you put the hoses on the pump backwards ....or the pump is in 180 degrees out of clock...

anything is possible.....

I unplugged the CAH IHS connector completely and behaves exactly the same way. So this is likely correct. Thanks for your help. I'm gonna order the harness from Jimmy and now I get to take out the back panel again!!!!

My pump looks the same. Makes no sense
IMG_1529.jpeg

As a Hail Mary you could disc both batteries ( look up how to if you don't know ) and let it sit 30 min, then reconnect. It will take awhile for the radio to get back to normal - your buttons to return etc.

I can't see how or why they would change anything here but it's possible.

@vishnu's issue should hopefully be easy to track down.

Factory trailcam trucks have a reversed harness and then the 2 related settings:

Reversible Washer Pump Enabled: Yes
Connector A Pin 14: Washer Motor Control Right Rear Output Present/Front Camera Washer: Yes

Make damn sure you got that reversed harness ( easy to compare, get the one you replaced out and compare wire colors on the fender side connector ) and that you enabled that Pin change.

@ecidiego

I just double checked those two settings and was questioning if they were correct as I was seeing yes and no in the log, as I don't think I cleared it. I set the values again and now my clean camera button washes the windshield and my steering column washer washes only the camera (it was washing camera and the windshield). So an interesting change, but maybe I need to wait again?

I should have the proper washer cable. I ordered it off your parts list. I threw out the original cable, so can't compare. I don't know if you recognize this:
