Got it. But you can most definitely have a Rubicon or Mojave with a stick shift with all that stuff. Tow capacity will still suffer. It offers higher towing capacity, dual climate control, moonroof, a/c bed outlet, upgraded offroad suspension, fog lights, leather, power windows, locking rear diff... for just a few. And those are all just standard. Yeah, Jeep offers all that stuff too, but you can't have a Rubicon with a stick. So you have to stick with what's available in the bare bones Sport trim.
I canceled my order, got my deposit back and have to wait a month for the Taco to arrive. Already built, so now it's down to logistics.
When I went to custom build, they didn't offer it to me. But it is what it is. I got my deposit back, no fight, no argument.Got it. But you can most definitely have a Rubicon or Mojave with a stick shift with all that stuff. Tow capacity will still suffer.
I assure you, there are 6MT Rubicons and Mojaves. There are trims you can't get it on like Overland, HA, and Freedom (maybe? Texas trail?) or whatever. You probably can't order now because yes you are right, they are likely going to start tooling down the line in preparation for 2024s. And believe me I have considered it. The dealer says that at the moment this order is eligible for the $5k in incentives in addition to the already great price I was quoted. That is the only reason I'm hanging on to the order. No way to get a 2024 yet, they haven't announced it, but even if I could get one at the end of the year, I'm just going to pay more for a few options I don't know that I care enough about to spend that much more on. Time will tell. The longer it takes, the less I want it for that very reason though. But if the deal is good, I'll still buy it.When I went to custom build, they didn't offer it to me. I also found out there's a complete stop order on the Gladiators. Which leads me to believe there's likely going to be no fix for their clutch issue anytime in the near future.
You may want to reconsider your order yourself. Because at this rate, everyone is ramping up for the '24 model year.
I'm out already. I already got a Tacoma and pulled my deposit. No sooner had I done so, then Jeep is having yet another recall for steering wheels falling off. Yeah... too many brand recalls, I no longer trust them. I'm taking all of this as a sign from the universe. I gave them well over the benefit of the doubt... but it's a day late and a dollar short. Not to mention I don't appreciate Jeep saying they'll call me back with information and nothing.I assure you, there are 6MT Rubicons and Mojaves. They have a fix. The wranglers are already being delivered to people who were waiting just like us as of a few weeks ago. JTs have started production as well but much later than the wranglers. I’ve already seen 35 built with window stickers showing 6-speed manuals and the VINs coming up as recall “completed” and are marked as “in transit” in a nationwide inventory search. I got an email 2 days ago that mine was “sequenced for production” and that hasn’t happened since before the recall and the regression. I’m betting it’s built within the next couple of weeks.
Jealous. Placed my order 2/1/23 and still twiddling my thumbs in D1 status. 6MTPicking up my '23 Mojave at Gupton tomorrow! Very excited. Thanks for all the support everyone. Probably should get some cargo pants as well so I'll have more pockets to empty!
How is that possible? Is it because of the MT? It's been over 5 months!Jealous. Placed my order 2/1/23 and still twiddling my thumbs in D1 status. 6MT
Clutch recall caused major delays. Not much info given in that time either! And no, there is no light at the end of the tunnel....yet.How is that possible? Is it because of the MT? It's been over 5 months!
Still looking like they haven't figured it out yet. And I'm under the impression it's going to be a long while yet. Which is interesting given they're using Aisin transmissions. Same brand they pop into Toyotas and those aren't having exploding clutch issues.Clutch recall caused major delays. Not much info given in that time either! 6MT?mine just today moved into "in production" ETA August 15
