Ok guys, I have a Sport S, 2020 with Rubi takeoff wheels and tires. Stock suspension and no lift or interest in one. 57K miles and it is time for new shocks.

Any solid recommendations for a quality replacement? My off-reading is pretty mild. Just need something that rides well and drives well.

Best bang for the buck right now are the Bilstein 5100's. You can get 4 for $440 from @Northridge4x4 .

"Rides well" means different things to different people. If you are used to sports cars the Bilstein 5100s will be good. If you are used to a cushy ride they'll feel stiff over the small stuff. But they do control the vehicle well.

I had Bilstein 5100's on my Nissan Titan and liked them. They weren't like ground breaking in terms of changing the ride or anything, but they were a solid pick for a low price. A couple years ago I had gotten a set for $350 off amazon, though they're nearly $500 now. They were just replacing OEM ones once they wore out.

That sounds right up my alley, thanks.

I failed to mention that a winch/bumper combo on the front and an RDL cap on the rear add some weight. But I think this is the route to go.

Thanks, Crew!

On my Rams and TJs I have always felt the 5100 were stiff and usually regretted buying them . I have been reading a lot of good things about the Eibach's Pro-Truck Sport Shocks. Many said they were Bilsteins but valved for a softer ride. I plan on giving them a try when its time for shocks

I have had the 9000xl's on my TJ for about 10 years . They are nothing to write home about either ......

@AccuTune Off-Road can get you quality tuned shocks.

Otherwise, I’d say stick with finding another set of take offs. You get what you pay for with the 5100s and other similar shocks.

A bit pricey but I swapped to the falcon 3.3 shocks and have no regrets. So much more stable

No votes for Fox 2.0 with progressive damping vs the digressive damping of the 5100's? Supposedly they are plusher on small chatter and bumps on the road while more damped on hard hits off road, but are less "sporty" feeling. I wish someone had the damping curves plotted for comparison to see how they really compare. The reviews and discussions are all seat-of-the-pants feel but I've seen no hard data on either and everyone has their own opinions on what is "best".
