How to know if Gladiator sport has been re-geard

Hey I'm a week into owning my first Jeep. Loving this Gladiator! I bought a 2022 Sport with 16k miles on it from a Chevy dealer who just didn't know much about Jeeps. I found out a few days later it had the Mopar 2inch lift. They didn't know. It has 35s on it and came stock with the 3:73. I'm thinking about 37s at some point and a few people said I might need to re-gear it. It drives great with the 35s and gets around 17.5 mpg. I'm wondering if the previous owner possibly did a regear when he added the lift and tires. Is there any way to know or do I need a shop to look at it? Thx!

PS: if anyone has found a 37x13.50 that fits in the spare compartment I'd love to what tire it is. Thx again!

Easiest way (but not 100% accurate) is jack the rear end up and support it with stands. Put a mark on one of your tires and a mark on your drive shaft. Spin the drive shaft and count how many revolutions it makes to get the tire to spin 1 revolution. If it's around 3-3/4 revs, that's a 3.73. If it's right at 4, that's a 4.10, 4-1/2 that's a 4.56, a little over 4-3/4 is a 4.88. You get the idea. Congrats on your new ride.

Long thread, but there are some 37s that can fit stock, more that will fit with an aftermarket rear track bar with a bend in it. These bars (Metalcloak, Clayton for two I can remember) bend in the middle to make a little more space for the spare. FWIW my Yokohama X-AT 37x12.5s fit with the MC bar with room to spare front-rear, but I have to deflate to ~8psi to get it to nestle between the frame rails left/right. Otherwise it'll hang up below the rails, and hang down a little lower.

Located under the differential cover front/rear. Will be either etched or stamped in the ring gear.

What @JTenn described is a easy way to get a close estimate without having to pop the cover off. To be 100% accurate, best to pop the cover and check.
