Yeah, I use a Trunk Monkey and an old pedal jack for manuals-locks up the brake pedal and clutch pedal. Hope the scumbags move on to an easier mark. I used to pull the coil wire but technology has taken that one away in many cases.
I will be pulling that fuse if I feel it necessary because I also have a hood lock. Should send ‘em somewhere else.

Used to use a steering wheel club until learning how easy the steering wheel is to cut.

“”””Ravelco””” is three kill switches in one. Three different circuits that are disconnected and hard for anyone to find. No criminal wants to mess with that hard of a challenge. According to them, no one has stolen any of their equipped vehicles in about 25 or so years. We have it installed them in three of our vehicles. We sleep very very well at night.

Install these into your driveway, and chain the axles to them. Cannot steal what you cannot move... (granted, they'd only need bolt cutters to defeat the chains)

The Tazer has a theft-deterrent feature. It allows you to set a "pin code" - basically pushing the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel in a particular sequence that you set. The vehicle can start but is immobilized until the code is entered. It also works if you are carjacked. If you keep your fob in your pocket and get out of the car, once you are a certain distance away, the horn will beep 3 time and eventually the vehicle is immobilized until the code is entered again.

As long as the Tazer is plugged in. Unplug it and the code goes away.

I sleep very well at night knowing where I'll go when I die.

Have you searched and found any of the several other threads with hundreds of posts on this same topic?

Pulling a fuse isn't going to stop thieves - they'll have fuses or short across with a wire or something. They go in knowing what it takes.
it may stop or slow down the casual joy-rider, but that's about it.
Jerks looking for an easy mark to drive around or use in crimes - may thwart them but not most thieves.

Anyway, there's a slew of posts on this - several, and they are many pages and dozens of posts long.
Would the TAZER JL pin lock be of any help?

That style of theft deterrent has been around for a long time. In fact, as a kid, I had made my own using a DB25 male/female combination. This was on a pre 1980 vehicle though and wiring was much more simple then.

There are 2 things that I don't like about it. The first is you have to connect to key electrical devices to make it work. On a new vehicle, it will void your warranty if you have an electrical issue (and that's very possible) which involves one of the circuits the device is wired into. The second is you have to have a dongle that is fairly large on your key chain to use the vehicle. On a Gladiator, you now have a large fob AND a large anti theft key.

Edit: 3 things. $749.95 plus installation? Are they nuts?

Ravelco says their device doesn't affect your warranty, will they stand by that statement when the dealer says the vehicle wiring has been hacked, your warranty is voided for electrical issues?

I always love how ready people are to anchor their whole truck to concrete, or hack up a wiring harness, all in an attempt to slow down a thief. Nobody likes their truck being stolen, but at what point are you lowering your own usability, reliability, and comfort of life out of fear?

Hack up the wires? You risk electrical and warranty issues, and the thieves can still steal it.
Use a Tazer? Sure you aren't hacking the wires, but the thieves can still steal it.
Anchor to concrete? You risk damaging it yourself as you leave quickly one day, and the thieves can still steal it.
Put on a steering wheel club? They really don't do much for deterrence in the first place!

If it's really that much of an issue where locking it up and keeping the key away isn't enough, you're probably better served focusing on securing the property you store it on instead. After all, the only thieves you'll ever stop are the casual ones. Once a professional thief has access to the physical vehicle, they can grab it one way or another. Cut off that access.

I invested in:
Whole point is to slow thieves down or get them to pass it by to find an easier mark. Understand that if someone really wants to steal it, and given enough time, they will!

Or leave the doors off.

Unless they unplug it.
The Tazer unplug hack will be patched in a future update, according to Z Automotive. Either way, I' didn't buy it for anti-theft. Just a cool plus.
