I'm planning like wise. Once warranty is up. Delete time.
do it now. your engine will thank you. The dealers cant fix these jeeps anyways your going to be on your own for most repairs or without a vehicle for 3-6 months.

FYI your ecu doesnt need to be cloned you can send in a blank one or previously flashes/used one.

EOC is a vendor for mrtuning mrtuning is the one doing all of the tuning on the ecu's. If you need anything "custom" outside of the normal box tune it can be.....difficult to get done. Also HP tuners has tuning softrware but no clearly spelled out methods to flashing.

On a 20hp EOC or level 1 tune (they are swithc on the fly) you will have little to no smoke or soot at wide open. On level 4 or the race tune it will haze out a highway. Not deep black soot but it does make some smoke.

Its amazing what can be done once these engines are un-neutered. They probably made amazing boat engines at 300+HP and 550ft lbs of torque with unlimited cooling (ocean or lake water) and no emissions :)
The 3rd gen Ecodiesel is bench flash only. There is no tool too switch between tunes 1st and 2nd gens, yes, EOC sends you a handheld tuner. For 3rd gen (all JT Ecos), you send them the ecu, they tune it and send it back. You only get on tune.

You think detectives are not smart enough to figure out code words and build a database of terms used?

At this point talk about it in ways that are general and don't include "me, I , have done, ect.." non- incriminating words or roll the dice and be proud and loud.

I am not a attorney

You can say what you want in the forums, that's not where they're going to get you.

As they slowly go after the manufacturers of all these tunes, they are also getting the end user info for each unit sold.

If they decide to come after you, they have all the info they need.

Going through forums to get ID's takes way too much time and money. The other way makes them money and the info is part of the package.

Actually that’s exactly how it started in the real diesel tuning world lol. It costs nothing to search a forum and would be called gathering evidence in the their world lol.

Companies were advertising on there and loud mouths were right behind posting about what they bought , from who, and what the results were.

Only a few b!tch companies gave up names of customers. One of the biggest companies is still in operation yet you , or anyone else would never know lol. Still going strong lol. All the face space tuners..lol… that got a hold of canned tunes and advertised them as custom tunes was not good either.

But hey, what do I know…. I was just apart of the litigation for a major player in the tuning world….that’s still in business…..

Like I said, they are slowly going after the manufacturers. If it's a product that you have to register with the manufacturer, when the Feds get to them they get all that info.

There are no bitch companies giving up names when a Federal subpoena is involved.

If you notice, the fines the Feds are handing out are kind of low for the dollars involved, that's so they can keep dipping into the well.

If and when they want to shut it down, they will. For now it's just another revenue.

Do you have any clue when this actually started or do you believe it just started to happen ??? Honest question.

When you go to google to find out…Edge is not the 1st. Doubt you will be able to find exact date as they have removed most from interwebs. Edge was just the 1st company to give up names. Many, many companies chose to simply go dark to hide. As stated before… most are still in business. You’ll just never know how to find them. Especially being in the Jeep world.

I got caught up in the Edge debacle, only problem was the Feds didn't bother to check the year of my truck before contacting me. It was in the information they had but they pursued it right to when I sent them a scanned copy of the title. Then I was ghosted. My truck was a 2004 and they were enforcing the 2006 rules.

Banks has been visited too, along with Bully Dog. The smaller names are feeling it now.
When all the laws are passed saying only manufacturer reps can work on them, there will be a lot more. As I said, they are moving slowly.
