Impressive? I dont share that opinion. We're in the market for a camper or motorhome and honestly dont see how some of these guys are pulling these campers in an underweight, short wheelbase gladiator. Just because you can doesnt mean you should. I really want someone to convince me that you can control a 30' camper at highway speeds. To me it seems the tail would wag the dog instead of the dog wagging the tail. A 20-30' camper is what empty? 4500-6500 depending on the brand/make/model and whether or not its dry. Add gear, passengers, fuel, etc and these gladiators have to be maxed out. 35 years of towing experience across this country both privately and commercially has taught me one thing, white knuckle driving is not something I care for. Im not here to bash anyone, to each their own but Id like to really know if anyone thinks that anything beyond 75% of tounge weight and tow capacity is worth it in a gladiator since I rarely venture past 50-60%.
I tow 5k lbs at 60 mph for the same reasons. We have a 19.3 foot trailer looking at a 19.11 as an upgrade and yet will still only tow 60. We can do 75mph but the tires and axles aren't rated for all that and not worth the extra cost of seeing who getsa there first. I learned in over the road trucking slow and steady gets you there just as fast, stress free (let them pass you, who cares), and a whole lot less worries! Safe travels Sir.

I thought I posted pics from recent CO/UT trip but alas I didn't.

Due to my wife getting elevation sickness at California Pass we had to pack up at 10:30p and drive Hurricane Pass and Corkscrew Gulch in the dark. Didn't get out until 1am. At one point on a switchback the brakes were shot and we crawled to a stop about 6ft from the edge of nothing. Below is the abyss we looked into most of the drive.

Did someone mention Airport D campsite @zxd9 ?

Also did Rimrocker on the same trip as well…

We must be brothers from a different mother!

Great minds think alike?
That Airport D site made for great photos with the tower in the background. It was my favorite of the two we stayed at. 2nd was Candlestick.

It was a great first overlanding trip. We packed a lot into the time we had.

Did you order it with any extras or did you get just the cap?
Here's my build sheet. In retrospect, I wouldn't have included the vented window. At the time I had grand plans for dual camping in the RTT and under the cap. In reality, we use the bed exclusively for overlanding storage—so there's no room for sleeping back there ??

Health and safety warnings are important and I do support "most" but prop65 is over the top. Hope camping doesn't give you cancer!

If she didn’t have elevation sickness, then she for sure would’ve gotten sick from fear of heights?
