I took advantage of the current discounts and rebates and traded in my 2020 JTR for a 2023 JTM. I'm not going to lie, I felt like I got a good deal when I drove off the lot.

MSRP - $65,645
Dealer added equipment and services (more on that later) - $3795

My price - $50,731

Trade in - $39,000 plus or minus. It's hard to tell once the finance guy rearranges the numbers to make it look like I paid 69K for it.

I knew what I wanted to get for my trade in and had to do a little back and forth dealership crap but eventually walked out with the tax savings equal to what I would have got for it from Car-Max/Carvana.

Interesting the Dealer added equipment and services add-on was dropped off the price. I told them up front I wasn't paying for any of it. They told me they can't delete it as it was already installed. I told them to go outside and take it off. They left it as it is. I wonder if I ever pulled up and asked for my lifetime car wash if I'm in the system as a no go.

As soon as I got home I located this behind the driver foot kick panel. Plugged into the OBD. Removed promptly.

First mod was to switch out the bumper. Swapping the tow hooks was an adventure. Reading the threads about modifying the bumper and/or Mojave skid plate made me just put the OEM Steel Bumper Skid Plate on and called it good. I really like the Accessory switch panel.

I have 2ea. BFG KO2's in 37x12.50x17 sitting in the shop. Still debating on buying two more or going back to 35's like I had on the JTR. Still researching. Comments on keeping stock wheels and no lift with 37's are always welcome.

Thanks to the forum for all the good information that is available.

Wow that is a deal. Looks to me you paid better than precovid prices for it, congratulations.

However, makes me wonder if this is cyclical? Great deals, uaw strike causes shortage, prices spike and then we wait for the next time thing to happen.

$50K seems like a solid deal! Makes me feel like I got hosed @ $60K lol, oh well. That said I did get painted fenders and a trail cam as well which is about $2500, then got taken for a little extra for the Punk'n color. Always a better deal out there I suppose, no regerts LMAO

Got all the options for free and couple hundred below base pricing. Cannot complain about that.

Wonder what a sanity ozone service is?
I can likely answer that.

They plug in an ozone producing machine, usually with a LOT of UV lights, too.. and the goal/idea is to dry out, and kill any viruses, bacteria, mold, or mildew.

Basically, plug the machine in.. turn it on, close up the vehicle, and let it run for an hour or two.

A friend who does car detailing on the side, has a system that does all that, and he said while he's 100% convinced it's a complete gimmick, there's a lot of his customers that have asked for it, recently... so he spent the $300 on the machine, and gets to charge like $50 for it to be ran on cars... *shrug*

I believe it is an abbreviation for "sanitary". Some kind of ozone fogger thingy that became popular during covid. My sanity was tested though.

Quick answer - The Rubicon 4:1 transfer case is to low for the type of off road trails I'm on. The only time I've ever used it was Windrock, a 10 hour drive away. I've never used the front locker. The times I wanted to use the rear locker I was limited to 4L and 18mph. The Rubicon was an awesome Jeep during my ownership. The Mojave is going to see more back road trails that I can drive at speed. When I need 4H, I want a rear locker. When I need 4L, I don't want to be so low I'm not able to move out of the way of a turtle.

I will miss him. Sort of.

What is your opinion so far going from the 2020 JTR to the 2023 JTM? I am about to do the same and always hear that the JTM rides better on the road. True for you so far?

It's noticeable. Of course it may be the "new car smell" effect.
What I have noticed.
1. The JTR Fox shocks were valved pretty soft for that heavy of a vehicle. I had a lot of body roll and the JTM seems more firmly planted, especially corners. I never drove a JTR with the Rubicon Red Shocks that they started putting on so I can't comment on them.
2. When I bought the JTR it had the Aluminum steering box. I drove it for 6000 miles like that and almost adjusted my driving style to accommodate for the wandering. Once I had it replaced I had to learn all over. The JTM steering seems to be more tighter. This may have to do with stock tires and 38# of air though.
3. The rattle I had from day 1 inside the front passenger door drove me nuts on the JTR. I'm so glad it's gone.

Damn, that’s a deal! My local dealer has three 22’ JT Rubicons with manual trans that have never left the lot… if the manual transmission stop sale ever goes away, I’m going to try and deal on one of those
