I had the same issue happened to me and I have the Tazer. After installing the front facing camera and doing a full reboot, it stabilized after a few cycles.I had this happen once before but it cleared itself up in a day or so, but this time it's been multiple days since the instant MPG disappeared from the current fuel economy page. Instead of showing range below and left of the gage and instant MPG low and right of the gage, it only shows range centered below the gage.
The only variable is I have a Tazer JL Mini installed so I don't know if I've accidentally pressed a button sequence or if there is even a setting to change this.
Anyone ever have this happen and know how to fix?
Press the right arrow on my steering wheel, toggles range on and off. There is no instant on either screen since a week ago. This isn't user error not knowing there are two screens. This is a bug in the screens.Press the Right arrow on the steering wheel, toggles my instant mpg on and off
In your case, you aren't toggling it on or off, you are completely changing pages of the display - a screen change.Press the Right arrow on the steering wheel, toggles my instant mpg on and off
I’ve had my Glad for 5 months, haven’t done any mods, and my “current MPG” disappeared this week and is nowhere to be found. I’m a techy and still can’t figure it out and from what I’m seeing here it’s something with the software. They don’t show any software update options in the settings, only a version on the “about” page with no date on when it was updated so unless somebody is able to contact the software writers or the IT personnel we may never know the cause. It's not related to tazer or any mods.
I don't have nor have I ever used a tazer, my cluster is 100% stock, I have not installed any camera nor have I modified the radio or anything that connects to it in any way.
All I have done electrically is add a trailer brake controller and use a harness to tap into the 12v outlet power for my snow plow controller.
So the dash and cluster and radio is 100% stock.
While my son was driving the truck, the instant mpg display disappeared.
At first I blamed him for making changes but then when I went left and right with the display, I realized it wasn't him, the display in the cluster had literally changed. The instant was gone and the range had moved down. It's almost like a 3rd display option showed up that you never otherwise normally see as a choice. It was a very different look besides the instant being gone.
Then about 2 weeks later while driving the JT around for errands, I flipped to the other mpg display and then back again (left, then right again on the switch controls) and bam, there it was again, just like normal. It's been fine since then - about a month and a half now.
It took a year for it to go goofy, it stayed goofy a couple of weeks, and then cleared up.
So it's a cluster display thing - it's almost like some never before used option replaces the display we are used to, then swaps back again. Wish I had pictures because other stuff moved as well when it happened.
Mine came back, by itself, a couple of weeks later. I see various time frames, but it normally does come back.I’ve had my Glad for 5 months, haven’t done any mods, and my “current MPG” disappeared this week and is nowhere to be found. Annoying as heck and an indication they need to check into something, but it doesn't break anything other than take away an expected feature when it does this.
One reason I know of is, concerning increasing my mileage, is to see how my driving is affecting my mpg. If I can stay off heavy acceleration I get a lot better mileage, which is what i'm after.I have the current MPG in the upper left corner and sometimes on the main screen. I don't know what value it really has in knowing it. What do people use the info for?
Yeah for sure can be entertaining. It's pretty easy to use it to moderate your driving, plan for hills and so on. I find that I can increase over my normal if I actually plan accordingly on some hills and accept that I'm not going to win a race. My wife used it on her Jeeps and she always had extremely good mpg - whomping the stated mpg numbers on the window sticker every time.My "Current MPG" magically reappeared yesterday with no indication of why.

It is also kind of amusing to see that number go to almost zero when I jump on the gas. That would be considered entertainment value.
I’ve learned the main thing for good mileage is to be easy on the gas whenever you can. The Gladiator gas is pretty sensitive.Yeah for sure can be entertaining. It's sort of like the vacuum gauge of the past - keep the vacuum high and get better mpg.
But you have to do thinking to make it work - plan, not just point and go in a vehicle. So I'm afraid the meaning of it is lost on most of today's drivers.
