So not the best example as ultimately it ran-away (he saved it…)….. 15:15 mark. Is a “low hp” vehicle…That tub is all about momentum. Devils is the steepest one up there. I've only seen high horsepower buggies make it out.
Long video but it shows the commitment it takes to get out of that one. Momentum is key. Too much and you bounce back down in there and start wondering what to do with what's left of your rig. Too much and you won't get past that passenger tire ledge. Not enough, you're pulling winch cable after a few tries. You can see how steep that is when the red JL tries to stop on the slope. It's just not going to happen.
Mickey's is a little further down the hill from Devils Hot tub. Less than a 1/4 mile or so, probably 1/8 mile? It's much more realistic for a full bodied rig to get out of that one.
Wheel base, tires….. not just HP.
As an active TDI enthusiast….. he nails it at the end of the video… TDI’s need a catch can period. Their design sucks so much oil through…. I run 27psi on the daily and without a catch can and reducer hose it would suck a quart every 3k miles through.
