Am I the only one not holding my breath?? All of the low sales #’s say they still have plenty of 23 inventory sitting on lots, therefore this strike can continue to ride on…. My opinion but…..
nah I don’t think anything thought this would be a short strike. I’m curious what the rest of the inventory is like. The strike isn’t being held up by gladiator inventory that’s for sure.

It won't be over until it really starts to hurt Stellantis. And once it is over, it will take months to get caught up and back to normal.
I think it will take time to catch up but it may be sooner than we think. I’d bet a nickel they will cancel 23 orders and move forward to 24’s.

They're not going to want to eat the cost on all those 23 parts they're trying to use up.

Which, oddly enough, was the UAW union. They had a seat at the table. And they wanted out. So now they're upset they got out?

There's a lot of legitimate stuff in the complaints, but there's also a lot of smoke and mirrors like this in there too. Makes it a huge untrustworthy mess from both sides.
UAW is specifically calling for that money from Stellantis to not be spent on buybacks.

4th transmission?? Gas or diesel? And any feedback as to why….?
4th in 74k kms. 21 JTR, auto, gas.
#2 and 3 transmissions had a whine in 1st and 2nd gear. #2 transmission was replaced right away at 500k and sent off to FCA engineers. It was confirmed internal failure and final warranty approval was granted (even though the dealership already put in #3). The air was a bit tense because engineers could have said it was normal and charged back the dealership for it, but that did not happen.
3rd transmission had the same whine right away and I questioned the service manager if they did the exchange because it sounded the same. He said “yes they did but hold off on bringing in that one until things with FCA settle out and they have a look at #2”.
So, I drove it 30k kms and pulled an oil sample out and sent to the lab. Lab highlighted the iron as too high and ALERTED to change the oil and filter and that was when I went back in to show the service manager the oil analysis report and have them test drive it.
They confirmed the whine and warranty replacement claim started.
After several days, the whine was coming from the pickup tube/pump and details of the second transmission were also examined and warranty was granted.

That only helps people who eventually get those as options (executives) or people who have a lot of money in the stocks (wealthy).
Gee I wonder how many shares of company stock is held by the pension fund? Or for those that now have 401k’s have the matching funds in company stock? Or retired workers’ IRA’s?

I once had a golfing buddy who was 1000% pro union state he couldn’t care less about the stock market. I mentioned to him to go find out about how is pension was funded. He did, and he started caring about the market.

Sorry, but that is not the UAW's place to be demanding that and is borderline commie bullshit telling a company how and where to spend their money.

You scale that kind of crap down to a local mom and pop business, it would be laughable.

... perfect timing. Just when all of the Covid supply chain nonsense was starting to level out.

I would say that the workers are enjoying their paid time off and are not eager to get back to work. I could see them not voting yes on a good deal as well, they have been taught that they deserve more than they are actually worth.

This, the market is funded in part on people's 401ks, pension funds, and IRAs. 40 trillion of the market is pure retirement assets, and 40 trillion is pensions.

Edit: I shouldnt say market as there is an investment mix and not 100% are in pure stocks obviously, but the point is that average folks do own stocks (60 percent of adults in America) even if they don't realize it.

they don’t stock much extra for the assemble line so they will be able to blow through the existing parts with those existing orders. Once there done with those parts they’ll most likely cancel the orders. At the same time parts manufacturing is affected by the strike as well so another reason they probably don’t have a whole lot stockpiled.

Fuuuuuck, sounds like time for an LS swap.

Joking aside, that sucks. I’m not sure what I’d do in that situation. Just keep waiting I suppose.

I’m sure many are struggling and not necessarily enjoying the time off.

They are only getting $500 a week. I believe most of it should not be taxed depending on how much they contributed over the years. I believe they also lose their health benefits as well. I could be wrong though.

Have you asked to take it back and keep driving it? I mean I get it has a tick, but this is potentially months of wait

I made the mistake of doing a deep dive on the UAW workers Facebook page and none of the ones on there seem to be ready to go back to work, lol. I know that's not all of them and I am sure there's plenty that would like to get back to work. There's a post on there with Ford's latest offer and its pretty dang good and most of them are saying no way. Its kind of crazy. I am not used to that type of attitude I guess.
