Have an appointment for my fuel pump recall tomorrow on 2022 diesel. Will I have to get another Banks Derringer tune or will I be able to plug it back in and keep rolling?

Why would the tune be affected?

Banks Derringer was installed on the Jeep when I bought it. I guess the bigger question is is the Derringer a controller that came with an aftermarket flash? Can the dealership just unplug it reflash it with whatever upgrades after installing the fuel pump then just plug it back in? Was there a step of installation with the Derringer that involved anything more than the plug mounted controller?

I don’t recall reading anything about a reflash… that is interesting.

Anyways… The derringer doesn’t change any values in the computers, it instead takes the sensor’s signals and “man in the middle” alters them to adjust your performance. It won’t be affected by any reflash. What might however, are tire sizes, led bulb changes, minimum/maximum psi parameters you changed via JScan and/or tazer.

Jefe, thank you for anns my question on the Banks. Unfortunately I also have tazer mini, bulbs, headlights ect. Guess I will have to F-around and find out. I am throwing codes constantly and basically have to pull both batteries out and reset the computer multiple times a day. I have 17,000 miles and constantly go into limp mode. I have turned the Banks down to mode three and it seems to help. Multiple times it just shuts off during idle, when I go for restart the starter turns excessively long like it’s trying to get fuel. Hopefully the recall will remedy this.

No offense but if your Gladiator is currently throwing so many codes you have to reset the computer multiple times per day it is already a shit show.

Banks recommends that you remove the Derringer and Pedal Monster anytime you go to the dealer. I would remove the Tazer too. My appointment is on the 20th. I have already removed the Derringer. This weekend, I will remove the Pedal Monster and Tazer. I don't want to give them any ammo that they can use against me.

My Derringer when plugged in will throw a CEL. If I was you. I would remove the Derringer, clear the CELS and run it for awhile to see if the CELS come back. Derringer have been known to throw CELS.

Sounds like good advice Rusty, unfortunately I am an old school hot rodder, I am lost on the computer stuff and pay those that know more than me to do. What the hell is a CEL? From what I have researched on the Tazer you need a lap top, I have no idea how to tune with it. Like painting my house, I can definitely do it but the guy that does it for a living can do it a lot better.

You use buttons on the steering wheel to work with the Tazer.

Check engine light.

Tazer doesn’t require a laptop to use, you click special combos on the steering wheel (as above). You do need a computer and USB cable to update it, should you ever want to

If you don't remove all aftermarket electronic devices that are in the computer loop, whether they just read or also change variables, when they flash your computer to accept their changes it may fry your aftermarket stuff.

If you're also under warranty, they can use those items to void your warranty or make your life a nightmare.
