I'm looking into buying a JT and have a few questions.

For my options, most wanted:
Max tow (mostly so I get the 4.10 gears) - Might use it to flat tow.
Cloth seats
Premium audio
Hard top (prefer color matched, but not going to pay a ton more for it)
Climate Control
Heated seats (not a must)
LED lights

So looks like I'd be fine with the Sport S package? I do see a lot of Mojave and Willys around Socal. Might get one of those if the numbers work out. Probably looking at getting one in around 3 - 6 months.

I will want to put on 35's and maybe a level kit eventually. So don't need 33's on it. Though may not get around to 35's for a year+ after owning it. So 33's could be a bonus.

I won't be doing much (if any) wheeling with it. It will be my DD, more of a mall crawler. I have an LJ on 37's for wheeling. I also have a TJ Sahara for DD, mostly stock. Will likely give this to my son who just turned 15. My first Jeep was a 2012 Sport, so more familiar with JK and TJ.

I am also considering a Tacoma or 4runner, but looks like the reviews on those aren't very good. I'm 6' tall and looks like the Tacoma is better for shorter people, auto trans sucks.

Get a diesel. Can't beat the fuel mileage and plus 37s without regearing.

When do the 24's come out? I'm still months away. Saving up for the down payment right now.

I saw in one of the threads that they will have the Anvil color? Interested in that, but would also get a few of the others like the dark gray if it had the right stuff on it.

I do like the Mojave, seen a lot of those around. If it has nicer seats, premium sound and the 4.10, that would be ideal. Might lift if I get some rails with a step. My 10yo is pretty short, so wife would kick my ass if he has trouble getting in.

Not sure I would pay more for that. Besides, the Jeep website lists the mileage as the same 16 city/23 highway. Is that not correct?

When I was stock I was getting 26.8 on the highway. 25 city. Religiously. Now with camper 400lbs of extra gear all day 2.5 overland Clayton lift. 22 hwy 20 city. My buddy on 37s I believe is still getting mid 20s on the highway. Not regeared. Plus the low end torque is amazing.

I might consider that. How much more does that engine cost vs. the 3.6? Any known reliability issues?

4,150$ more according to the Jeep website. All I can say is shop around. Check out Gupton Jeep. Tennessee dealer, always seems to have the best price all around. A couple others on the forum as well.
Reliability? All vehicles have issues. The 3.6 could end up with a lifter tick. There's a lot of threads on here about that. Misfires too. Ecodiesel high pressure fuel pump. They say there is a fix. New Gladiators should have it done before they are sold. Gupton was offering 8% off invoice. Not sure if they still are. There is no 24 with a diesel.

Sounds like you may need to read a little more on the forum. The 2024's are coming very soon. What you see on lots right now are 2023's and once they are gone, they're gone. If you are still a couple months out from buying, I doubt you are going to find a 2023 optioned the way you want.

Yes, definitely going to be going for a 2024 then. Odd that they don't have the new models coming out in late summer like most mfg's, that would probably be better timing for me to snag a previous year model.

I see you're an EMT-P. I worked as an EMT for around 5 years in the late 90's in Los Angeles. Lots of fun stuff back then with shootings, drug OD, car accidents, etc. I almost went to paramedic school. Got side tracked by the tech boom and went into the IT field.

Are we thinking 24 will have a price decrease? Is that the rumor?

Hopefully they work the current 15% off into the usual price. I have no info to support that will happen though.

All I know is if it goes up much, it might put these out of affordable range for me. They're already similarly priced to F150 and 1500 trucks which have better towing capacity and similar gas mileage.

I was considering a Tacoma, but the reviews are pretty awful on those with the shitty trans. I'm 6' tall and they're not very roomy either.

I’m 6’5 and I was uncomfortable at first but I got used to it…….they are way over priced that’s for sure maybe 24 they will make the adjustment but I doubt it
