Installed a used Pedal Commander I bought off the forum here from @RKoeniger for a decent price. So far, pretty happy with it.

I think I saw that listing right after it was sold! ?. I loved the Pedal Commander in my Ram 1500 Hemi. I ran it at Sport +3

so far I’m not too disappointed with the pedal response in my new Gladiator. But might add one later.

Yeah, he had that listing up for awhile. Once I seen it 50% below retail, I got froggy and jumped on it. Normally such things do not interest me.

I will say after installing it, I did not realize how laggy the factory throttle response was. I am not usually a speedy driver but I really notice the difference when doing on ramp merging into highway driving that it pulls way more linear. For me, the "CITY +2" setting is my sweat spot.

Nothing sexy:
  • 2x Windshield wiper blades
  • Engine air filter
  • Cabin air filter
  • RockStopperz Hinge Protection Kit(also available via Amazon)
    • If you have a new Jeep do this immediately for some cheap and easy paint protection. I did something similar on my 2013 JKR back in the day off the lot but just slipped my mind this time around. Four of the eight hinges on mine are chipped up and I'm waiting for a paint pen to come in to touch them up before applying the protection.
    • CheeperJeeperTV video about the product.
I did the Rockstopperz right before going on a Christmas road trip. Wanted the extra protection. Considering mud flaps due to the poke. Need to research options and pro/cons. Part of me thinks protection for me and those behind me and the other part sees them getting snagged on something and being ripped off...

Ridiculous. It genuinely takes care of almost all of the wheel shimmy stuff. It’s really nice actually. For the naysayers, it prevents terrible jolts to the pitman arm from the passenger front wheel.
Paying a shop to install a bumper ?
I wouldn’t know how to do it, so I will have to pay. I’m trying to learn more about auto mechanics, but I don’t wanna let my ignorance prevent me from upgrading my JT. I’m reading how much so many of y’all DIY and it’s amazing! But I’m gonna need guidance or more likely I’m gonna need to pay a shop even on sliders!

Installed the DDI seat jacker/slammer on the driver’s side. Did the full 2” rear slam with the 3/4” jackers in front. Love the fit and function now!

Need a dead pedal now…

Don't be embarrassed to ask questions. There are usually videos on YouTube that will guide you on an install job.

I think your biggest issue will be a lack of tools. Installing a bumper is usually a very simple, and straightforward operation that requires minimal tools. So that might be a good way for you to get started.

Are there Jeep clubs where you live? If there are they will have members who would probably be happy to help guide you.

One thing about the Jeep world is there is a much higher nice person to not nice person ratio. And we are in general much more self sufficient.

I noticed when researching the installation of my auxiliary fuel tank that most of the custom truck places have little experience working on Gladiators. Most of their work is on Fords, Toyota's and the like. Most of the Jeep work in my area is DIY.

We learn by watching and doing. Search the web for an install video for your specific upgrade. It can help you to figure out how to handle it yourself.
Here’s a link to one bumper that can give you a general idea of how to install one.

Do y’all do this stuff after your warranty runs out? I thought most mods need to be done by the dealer w MOPAR to avoid voiding it.

it really depends. but if you change the bumper, its going to have little impact on other systems. i cant imagine the dealership not warrantying something in a different system like the drivetrain or something because of a bumper.

cutting into wires for something and then saying there is an electrical issue, perhaps, but they have to show its related.

You can swap bumpers daily and the only part of the warranty it might impact is the warranty on the bumper (or the fog lights if you screw that part up)
