So if the rear bumper is indeed similar to the African concept then I have a problem to work out. You see my original plan (assuming similar build options to the JL) was to get the plastic bumper and look for aftermarket steel options. There are some really great aftermarket front bumpers but I have not yet seen a rear that really jumps at me, making me think I should buy the steel bumper package OEM. If I do that however that eats into my budget for replacing the front bumper.

Decisions, decisions. Maybe I should just wait and see what is actually offered before I get to worked up.

When is the revel again??? Oh yeah, we don't know yet.
AEV will have the JL stuff out at SEMA this year. They confirmed that to me on a FB post. So I'm betting the JL bumper of theirs will work, and that the JT bumper would be a mix of the JL and Brute.

I think after SEMA you'll have a lot better idea of options. Worst case you can rock a stock bumper for 6 months.

AEV said something similar to me today on FB:

"We don't have our hands on a truck that has been officially released or announced yet but we are hoping our products we are making for the JL will carry over."

So I asked them:

"AEV so not even had your hands on a JT test mule or been involved with developing the JT?"

To which I've received no reply. LOL.

Based on the Chevy Bison announcement from AEV and how they had to work secretly on that, as well as their "officially released" comment, I'm guessing they've had hands on a JT test mules and supported at least some of the JT's development.

Looking at these pics, it becomes clear that FCA decided to use this truck to implement some 2020 features for the JL as well. Look at the rear view mirror...

did anyone else notice? The gizmo attached to the rear view is a magnetic credit card reader....every time you get in the vehicle it charges a "driving fee". If you don't have a card on you or if you use a magnetic field blocking wallet it goes into limp mode.

I bet California will do that soon with gas cars.

In other subject... can anyone tell me what is that bar running across the rear dif? I know he Ram has it and it’s a ram inspired suspension... but I still don’t know it’s purpuse though.

I believe it's a anti-roll/sway bar.

Pretty standard for pickups and given the JT shares similarities with the RAM rear suspension it makes sense
It is located along the axle on pickups because the space above/behind the axle is needed for the spare tire. It functions the same as if it was above, like the Wrangler.

Looks like they made sure to tweak it a little for a Jeep application, hangs down way lower here.

Perhaps it was discussed before, but kind of bummed to see the spare stowed beneath the vehicle. Seems like the worst place to ever want to try and retrieve a spare from (if said vehicle has ever driven through a New England winter...).
