My trade in ... was 13 years old with 134k total miles. Though it doesn't show in the picture, the cab corners and rockers are rusted through. I had to replace the 5.4L at just under 100k when both overhead cams failed, and the overhead cams were failing on the second 5.4L engine when I traded it in ...

The trade in turned into this ... which I was fortunate enough to find on a dealer lot in Dec '22 ....

I've made a few upgrades in the last year and now it looks like this ....

Traded my 2013 Land Rover LR4. Although I love my Gladiator, I still miss that thing quite a bit. If it wasn't for the consistently terrible MPG and mileage related issues popping up, I'd say it's the perfect DD.

Downsized from a TRX to the Gladiator this year. The TRX was fun, but looking at buying retirement property so no need for that kind of expense (.....proceeds to buy a Jeep, while my wife already has a Wrangler ) The TRX equity essentially paid for the Gladiator so I can't complain, although there are days when I miss the 700HP.

I always kept an old jeep & a new Toyota truck. When the Gladiator came out I killed 2 birds with one stone. besides I hated the new Tacoma automatic (learning)transmission, that coming from a Toyota owner since 1987. In all fairness the Tacoma had a lot more bells & whistles for the buck.

2005 Tacoma (190,000)

No trades. I privately sold my work car, Maxda CX-5, and my pickup, 2005 Tacoma, after I bought the Gladiator. Got thousands more in private sales than trade valued and Carmax offers.

Both sold instantly when I listed them on my own FB page (not Marketplace).
There was a queue of seconds, thirds, fourths, etc.
People know I take care of things. The guy who bought the Mazda brought cash within hours of me posting it.

One of my best friends bought the Tacoma.

Sadly, the Tacoma got crushed by a tree a few short months later.
It had a brand new frame under it, courtesy of Toyota's incredible customer care program.
