I’m interested in purchasing an awning. Overland vehicle systems has their nomadic lt awning on sale. And you can get an additional 15% off right now. I can’t decide if I want that extra coverage over the driver side door or not. Is it worth the extra 200 for that extra bit of coverage? Any opinions?

Have the 270LT awning on my Glafiator. Great for tailgating. Or just stopping out on the trails.

I just debated this myself. I did the LT without the extra sliver. I've only been able to test open it so far, but it feels plenty to me. I don't access the driver door that much to need it covered. Either way, you'll have a nice awning.

That’s what I’m leaning towards as well. The majority of the time is my wife and I and our two kids.

Well both of you made my decision easy haha. @chrismeece74 @Turnswrench

Thanks!!! Saved me money!
So it sounds like you’ve opted to not get the extension. I think it really comes down to what you do and how you use it. I’ve had an AluCab 270 awning for about a year and a half now, which doesn’t even have an option for that extension, and I can’t say that in all that time I have wished I had coverage over the front door.

We have a rear seat delete which means the back door coverage is critical when accessing backpacks, food stores or whatever. When we are posted up at a campsite for a day or two we almost never access the front seats; coverage over the tailgate is the most critical.

We have the 270lt on our RTT trailer, so can’t answer your coverage question. But I can say that the quality is second to none. I wouldn’t have an awning from another company.

I have that exact awning on my JTR. Love it. Mounted to an Extrusion Overland rack. Actually does only take about 3 minutes to set up and 5-7 to put away. I'm glad I got the bigger one because when the sun is not directly overhead, it adds more protection. I also got the wall for the front third. It has really come in handy when raining or windy. Cant recommend it enough, especially for the price. Only down side is the first 2 or 3 times I used it, was tight getting it put away. Once I figured out it is better to "fold" it in versus rolling it in, got much easier.

I called overland vehicle systems on my way home from work and the dude I spoke to said they sell more of the nomadic with that extra sliver vs the lt w/ out it. He said the nomadic is bout 15 lbs more. I just keep thinking if it gets windy it’s another failure point with it having another arm or arms, and being 200 bucks more idk if that’s worth it to me. I’m still leaning towards the lt. Tomorrow is the last day of the sale so I need to decide soon. Plenty of you guys said the lt is enough coverage.

Tell them for the low cost of a $200 credit you'll advertise for them ?
