So I bought my 2022 Sarge Green JTRD Gladiator used from a Subaru dealer in Maine with only 10,000 miles on it, but they got it at an auction in Pennsylvania, and it originally was sold by Faulkner Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Mechanicsburg PA. The couple that owned it lived in New Cumberland PA. I have the PA title, so I know their names, but I don't want to disclose that publically. I called the dealership and asked them if they knew why it was traded in, and all the guy could tell me is they traded it on another Gladiator. I'm one of those people who likes to know the history of his vehicles, and I was just hoping that maybe I could ask them a few questions to solve a couple of mysteries . I know it of course had the diesel recall, and I don't know the details of if that allowed you to trade back in for a really good deal, or what. I checked and it had no other warranty issues according to my local dealer, who BTW performed the recall on the diesel already, and geez it was so easy. I literally walked up to a service writer, asked if they had a fix for the diesel recall yet, the lady said yes, when would you like to bring it in? I said How soon can you do it, she said in 3 days, I said great, lets do it. I brought it in three days later, and they did the new injector pump, and also did some tailgate recall thing I didn't even know about. That was December6th or so, and the truck has been perfect, but it was before as well. Anyway, just can't figure out why they gave up on this one.

ive owned diesels trucks, last one was a ram 1500, i would probably guess with the extra expense of DEF and cost of the diesel oil changes vs gas, add the huge discounts on the 2023's, now is a great time to get a replacement...but im just guessing, zero evidence to back up my statement

I bought a used Wrangler from a Jeep dealer once. Three years old model, so probably a lease return. I would occasionally find long brown hair and white cat hair, so I figure it belonged to a brunette who rode with her cat. Thats all I cared to know about the previous owner. The past is past and I dont have the time or inclination to dwell on it when there are off road trails beckoning me towards the future.

I bought a used Harley from a dealer in Wisconsin. I saw a picture of the bike on a HD forum I was on and contacted the previous owner via Facebook.

With this kind of (curiosity?), you may want to start buying new??? If CarFax and any other obtainable records are not enough, I would not bother a previous owner, unless we were talking about rare or aged collectibles. If such, those details on ownership would be more easily provided. Buy New and don't call me! #Wasn'tMyJeep.

Yeah. It would be a bit creepy if some stranger who bought one of my old vehicles at some godforsaken dealer lot came knocking on my front door or texting me. No matter how nice s/he turned out to be...

OK, I am always happy to talk with folks who buy my toys. I usually become friends with them and stay in touch. It's not that big a deal, if they don't want to chat, so be it. So funny how quick some people are so quick to label a friendly person as "creepy" We have become a very mean society. #Better not wave !! LOL

They traded it. Now it's yours. Don't bother them.
I agree emphatically with this.

Nothing says they "gave up" on the truck, that's an odd thing to assume. Many people just want a newer one, a different color, different trim, options, so on and so on. Nothing wrong with their current truck, they just want to upgrade.

If you're happy with it, just keep on keepin' on.

If I wanted to "BOTHER THEM" I wouldn't have posted on here, I would have just reached out to them directly, remember, I have their contact info, right down to their phone numbers ! I came here to the forum with this, to see if they would reach out to ME, through this forum, rather than me bother them ! GEEZ !

I have the Car Fax, Original Window Sticker, Warranty History, etc. There a couple of missing items that I would offer to purchase from them and pay the shipping, if they still had them. IE Front Skid Plate, Roof and Door Bolt box that goes under the seat, Lug Wrench and extensions, Owner's manual and roof tool kit, and the rubber piece that goes in the dash compartment near the defroster vents. . These are the Mystery items, that in my excitement that I found a used, low miles Diesel, I didn't notice missing when I bought it, and would like to purchase from them if they still have them. That's all folks, not creepy in my opinion.

I never said you were creepy or anything. Just said that I wouldn't go ask them why they "gave up on it". That's just not a good start.

But it's also good to respect boundaries. They traded it in, they're done. The fact that you have personally identifiable information of the previous owner given to you by the selling dealer is also a bit iffy; they're not supposed to do that. You rightly recognize this as you're not reaching out to them and aren't posting their information. But it does beg the question; since you already have the most info here, how can we really help you?

Past all that, missing items during your sale are really the dealer's responsibility to cover, if they need to at all. You did buy as-is, so I'd just contact Benny here on the forum about getting what you need and call it a day.

You didn't say it was creepy, I was referring to the post of a person who did. Read back and unless they deleted it, it's there.
The selling dealer has to supply it when you are buying as a dealer to dealer sale, because they are not registering the truck or car, so the title, etc. are past on as is. The new selling dealer then registers the vehicle and surrenders the title to the motor vehicle department. I don't know how you knew this was an "As Is" sale, because if the JT were sold to a consumer directly from a dealer, it would be required to have a warranty and have normal safety items such as the too kits and owner's manual included, due to the higher price of the vehicle. In our state, vehicles under certain thresholds can be sold without warranties, and in "AS IS" condition.
I wasn't asking anybody to do anything. If the original owners saw this and reached out to me in a PM, that would have been alI I was looking for. That should have been obvious that I was respecting their boundaries and giving them that option by the info I posted. If a friend of theirs recognized the story, and told them about it, and they reached out to me, again, that would be great.

Wasn't looking for anybody to do anything disrespectful. Don't think people read this very carefully, or, are looking for ulterior motives that don't exist. I made it clear I could contact them directly. I just wanted to put some money in their pockets while they got rid of crap they will probably throw away some day.

I'll give this another day, and then delete this post if the Original Owner's don't reach out. So here's the forum's last chance to Flame Away at me and call me weird, creepy, whatever makes them feel good, LOL, I've got really thick skin after being a business owner for 54 years.

I can find the items on my own, they are already on my Ebay watch list, though the lug wrench kit isn't the one with the Velcro strap. I can't seem to find that after months of looking.

Yeah, it's creepy.
People like this are the reason I refuse to go on a cruise. Can't escape them without jumping overboard and being eaten by orcas, which is fine if it has to be that way.

Hope you enjoyed saying that and it made you feel fulfilled for the day.
