This is my worst nightmare and why I dread having to sell anything on Craigslist or Facebook. It's exhausting dealing with people that want to be best friends because we exchanged a few messages back and forth.
why can’t we be friends?????

My Rubicon was a used 2021 with 3600 miles on it, bought in July 23. Had a Quadratec dead pedal installed in it and WeatherTec mats.

The dealer didn't know (or wouldn't tell me) why it was on their lot either. In my case, I'm guessing it was a Navy sailor who either had money issues and sold it to the dealer or had a PCS to a new base where he couldn't take it. It was in Newport News, VA.

Either way, it's been flawless mechanically and a joy to drive.

Possibly a repo. My gladiator had 2000 miles on it when i bought it and the guy got rid of because he couldnt get into after a hip operation. Check the carfax you can usually put 2 and 2 together and make sense of it.

I'm on my 3rd Gladiator. 20 Sport S, 21 Mojave and now a 22 Texas Trail diesel. Sometimes I just get a wild hair and want a new one. And I got insane trade in on the 20, so it put me in a good position. Understand wanting the missing parts, but can probably find those online somewhere.

Also understand being curious why they traded it, but if there's no dealer repairs or warranty work in the system, you're probably ok.

Might want to change your user name when you contact them.
Why, It's the same user name I use on the K5 Blazer Forum, and everybody gets it, and thinks it's funny. BTW the top hasn't been on the Blazer for over 15 years. .

If I wanted to "BOTHER THEM" I wouldn't have posted on here, I would have just reached out to them directly, remember, I have their contact info, right down to their phone numbers ! I came here to the forum with this, to see if they would reach out to ME, through this forum, rather than me bother them ! GEEZ !

I have the Car Fax, Original Window Sticker, Warranty History, etc. There a couple of missing items that I would offer to purchase from them and pay the shipping, if they still had them. IE Front Skid Plate, Roof and Door Bolt box that goes under the seat, Lug Wrench and extensions, Owner's manual and roof tool kit, and the rubber piece that goes in the dash compartment near the defroster vents. . These are the Mystery items, that in my excitement that I found a used, low miles Diesel, I didn't notice missing when I bought it, and would like to purchase from them if they still have them. That's all folks, not creepy in my opinion.
Posting a picture of the vehicle and asking if it once belonged to any member in PA is fine.
I’d be a little concerned that someone gathered all my contact info and phone number. Regardless of your intentions or whether you are nice or creepy. I wouldn’t be happy about it. Only my opinion.

I can think of several answers you would not want to hear. Sometimes it's better to not know .

Mark here,
I did explain that I am a dealer, and the dealer to dealer sale means the ownership info is transferred to the new dealer, (in this case me)as the title is still in the old owner's name until it gets registered with new plates to a new owner. I bought a 2018 Raptor at the auction with 1,400 miles on it with the intent to sell it for a profit. The guy traded it in after only two months of payments and ownership because he got in over his head on the payments. According to the payoff on the title, he owed over 80K on a 72K truck, WOW that dealer got him good on all the aftermarket stuff life Accident and health ins etc. I ran it up to 50,000 miles because I liked it way more than I thought I would and should. Just sold it to a great guy, (we are now friends, and his brother brought his Gladiator by to show it off to me, It's pretty crazy, 6 inch lift 37's etc,). I took his 2023 Tacoma in trade on the Raptor, sold it to one of the Toyota dealers in the area. Now friends with that dealer as well. I'm not used to being treated as if I am trying to do something wrong for wanting to know about a vehicles history. I'm a car guy with several classic and/or antique cars. It's considered normal behavior in my world. I'm also a boat dealer, and we often have to give the buyer the old customer's info, especially if they are registering the boat out of state. In 54 years, it's never been an issue, so i am pretty shocked at the negative reaction I'm getting. That's OK, I will delete this post soon, as I want to be able to enjoy my new toy on this forum, rather than have a bunch of guys on here think I'm some sort of weirdo.
Funny, after years of owning Jeeps, a CJ 5, a CJ 6, 3 CJ' 7s, and 2 CJ 8 Scramblers and now this Gladiator, I thought I was a Jeep guy, with all the friendly wave stuff and all that. I've bought a bunch of accessories off Facebook, a soft top, Half doors with uppers, Warn bumper and winch, and met some great folks. They offered up being Facebook friends, and the lady I bought the top from and my wife chat about going to Sturgis together on our bikes this summer. Me and the guy from Tennessee that sold me the half doors are now Facebook friends too. But I've been treated soo differently with this post, that I'm not sure I fit in here on this forum, just not what I'm used to in my world .

I'm not sure I have anything to offer you. You obviously opened up some wiggly worms with your post with some people and now you are trying to defend it. You don't need to defend, just move on from it.

I don't think anyone wants you to leave the forum. If you just let this thread die in a couple of weeks no one will even remember you posted it.

Interesting, that is a dealer that is local to me too. I traded my JLU in on the gladiator last month and honestly wouldnt care if the previous owner contacted me as I have stuff I could sell them but i guess thats not normal.

I didn't "gather it" it was freely given to me for registration purposes. I'm a dealer, and dealer to dealer sales are done that way for the most part. Those of you concerned with that should know if your trade in goes to auction, or is otherwise sold from a dealer to another dealer, that former ownership info goes with the sale, except in a handful of states that allow dealers to apply for a title in the dealerships name without registration. My wife's CTS V Wagon was that way. The dealership in Kansas City, Missouri had a Missouri title made in their name because Missouri allows that, and the car was last registered in Florida. It may just be the way Missouri does there titles, for privacy reasons. The unfortunate part about that is in some states, it's an easy way that a wrecked car can have a clean title if it never went through an insurance claim.
