So aren't these really light bars, or utility bars?

Legally I think all manufacturers have to call them sport bars or such, not roll bar. Mine is custom built but it is not tied into the frame like a true roll bar would be. Technically mine is strong enough to not collapse during a roll over; but as you said, the bed in which it is tied into would probably fail.

So mine is a Sport Bar.

I thought a true roll bar had to be frame-attached. The sides of these beds can crush and collapse pretty easily. There's little structure to them.

Define compatible.

nothing is really meant to fit up there, I just saw the opportunity. it's a Rhino Rack with similar dimensions. I mounted it using tube mounts.

FYI if you plan on a tonneau cover AND a sport bar there are only a few that can do it. Tyler and black horse are two I know of.
they will be raised above the bed like this.
also you can’t get the “3rd flip out of the cover, and the second flip will lean against the bar.

I can’t fathom how any company hasn’t solved that issue yet. It’s a matter of like 2-3” difference.

the egr roll track does, but their kit is like 1300$
