true ? . thank god we got u joints. much easier to carry spares and much easier to replace if ya know the tricks.

My understanding is CV joints should be stronger. I watched the longer video later, and I am not sold on their skill but I agree, the tires were just spinning. No reason for something to break. They plan to put it up on a lift and find what went wrong soon.

It kind a looks like the system was activating the brakes to grab traction. I wonder if the on and off application of that was causing the driveline to load and unload.

I wheeled my Xterra pretty hard. Guys would say to start carrying a spare CV for when I broke it. I sold it with the originals to get my JT. No idea why this broke, but it shouldn’t have.

If he was using the crawl control I can understand traction control working like that but in 4low and driver control of the vehicle there should not be any traction control going on.

It happened after he turned off crawl control. Maybe the traction control thought the vehicle was sliding. Not sure. But the wheel clearly isn't just spinning free. Something appears to be modulating it.
