The red dash isn’t great on a red Jeep… different reds.

Can't figure that out - if you go to the lower trims and opt for the non-MOPAR leather, you get black.Agreed, I just couldn’t get myself to like the red dash.
Unfortunately for the Mojave X’s there is no other leather option that would “black out” the dash and leather.

Go for a Rubicon X - black
Why the heck that green? It makes no sense because it really doesn't sit well with the other colors or the orange stitching of the Mojave.
I think what happened, a fellow named Jim I used to work with was on the design team for the new agency software being developed to track clients. He had problems with other than dimensional things and kept saying he wasn't going to be much help choosing button colors and so on............. color blind.
I wonder if after he left state government he started working for FCA?
Fair enough. I think I would prefer a color match to the body paint reminiscent of the CJs I've had in the past. There's a website out there that will paint the dash any standard Jeep color... just not worth that much to me (was a few hundred dollars with trade-in dash).I actually love the red dash on my red Jeep
I think "Jim" is the same guy that thought High Velocity Yellow was a good idea.?I think what happened, a fellow named Jim I used to work with was on the design team for the new agency software being developed to track clients. Was this because all interior lights are now LED or just a cheaper route? I’ve wondered the same question as well and would love to install the extra dimmer if the wire connection still exists on the ‘23s.I really should have thought - looked at pics of 23s, and then not be surprised.
Thinking back to 2020 and all of the "what's this dial for" or "my dial isn't working like the book says" and similar comments or questions. It was sort of a forgotten thing and I bet a fair share of Jeep owners either never used it or never figured out what it was for.
I'm in the "I never used it, never saw a need for it" group.
The only thing I can figure, is some designer (Jim) prototyped Taco Bell Aftermath Green™ in a Sarge Green truck. Called over the rest of the crew to marvel at his work, to which everyone exclaimed "looks great! ship it!"I think what happened, a fellow named Jim I used to work with was on the design team for the new agency software being developed to track clients. I believe they only saw the color in bright cool white artificial lighting where it actually doesnt look bad and were like yeah its a highlighter! The only thing I can figure, is some designer (Jim) prototyped Taco Bell Aftermath Green™ in a Sarge Green truck. Which, as a professional designer myself, I challenge that even when paired with a green exterior, that choice is iffy. What happened to a classic tan or weathered saddle brown?
But, moving past their INSISTENCE on making a fashion statement out of a pinch of color mixed with gray... In a year of the return of Anvil (blue), and possibly even Bikini (blue)... which is even a common hue of normal perceptive "gray"...
Jim said "Eureka! GREEN!"
Exactly why I tried to get pictures of all angles, all lighting, at least as much as was possible on a cold, WINDY, sunny day with the truck being parked facing the south sun coming right in on it.I believe they only saw the color in bright cool white artificial lighting where it actually doesnt look bad and were like yeah its a highlighter!
Every other light turns it to that nasty pastelish yellow green
Don't know the reason - I thought that all LED equipped JTs had LED interior lighting as well........ my 2020 and 2022 had/have all LED lighting and have that dimmer. Was this because all interior lights are now LED or just a cheaper route? That was precisely my experience. Except for the clutch the Jeep is a much better off road vehicle.I went from driving Jeeps to Toyota Tacomas from 2008 - 2022. My last Tacoma was a 2019 model Tacoma TRD PRO and I absolutely hated it (but kept it for 5 years). I switched back to Jeep and got a 2023 Gladiator Rubicon Diesel since Jeep started back making trucks. The solid front axle makes a world of difference when going off-road and Jeep's 4WD systems work much better than the Tacoma's. I don't think I'll ever buy another Toyota Truck. You might want to reconsider thinking that the Tacoma is a viable option if you actually go off-road any at all.
As I noted in other threads, I've opted partly due to the clutch boondoggle, and partly to my age opted to trade my 2022 JTR for a 24 JTR (not X). I'm getting it at 4% under MSRP, $40,000 for my JTRMT (they really don't like to try and sell MTs; cost 53,000 in 2022). I put together the options on the JTR non-X about the same as come on the JTR-X without leather seats that I don't want, electric seats that I don't care about, matching fenders and top that don't look good to me, and the optioned all-wheel drive transfer case that's not important to me. List prices were different by $4000.00. If leather is what you want, that's the way to go. I'll have it in a couple of weeks, and report back. I've driven MTs since 1965, three Jeeps, five Tacomas, Isuzu Trooper, Datsun pick-up, 49 International pick-up, Isuzu Rodeo, all MTs. My wife has a RAV4 Prime PHEV that is great to drive, and partly makes up for the poor mileage on the JTR.Gladiator MSRP reduced, along with other Jeep models. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/b...er-strategy-ahead-of-ev-launches/72713895007/
Yeah, I noted that in another post. I didn't have the forward trail cam in my 22, and I'm in the field often and really wanted it. Solved with the 24 since it's standard with the Tech package and standard on the X. The "standard" JTR has the windshield antenna, 12" screen, side air bags, ACC/FCW, Gorilla glass, cold weather package is now the "convenience package", LED lighting standard, Alexa (who cares), aux switches and tow hitch now standard, most of those options in 2022. With the Convenience and Tech Package" I got all I wanted that are standard on the X for 4 grand less. I wanted the AT given I'm not getting any younger.Over 3 years ago.
Factors (some of these may be on yours, but if not, it explains a lot of the price differences)
Inflation
power seats
antenna in windshield (no whip to get stuck in the trees)
12" screen (probably a fair cost)
SelecTrac standard
side air bags (and the tech to support them)
ACC/FCW standard
Gorilla glass
"cold weather package"
aux switches
LED lighting
Alexa
Other safety factors have been built into the 2024 Jeeps that were not present before.
