I stumbled onto this new podcast today on YouTube. It was their first show. ( 2 dudes and a wrench).
If you’re a Mojave owner you might find it interesting. Talked about shocks, lifts, and winch install to name a few.
I’ve also watched their channel and followed some of the build that they did to their Mojave.
Sorry no link, but I’m sure you can easily search for it

This podcast is what got me thinking of getting rid of my Mojave for a Rubicon. I want to lift it and build it out for overlanding.

The kit they sell for the ARB compressor is absolutely amazing too. In my opinion makes everything functional and compact.

Now that I have a Mojave I’m going to keep it stock and enjoy what it does well. If I find myself doing more Rubicon things I’ll probably just mod it and keep the benefit of a stronger frame and steel knuckles. Who knows…?!

You don't need anything but basic camping gear to overland. Or upgrade to 35s with no lift for some extra clearance. Put on a SmartCap, GFC topper, or Diamondback cover, throw a ground tent and camping gear in the bed and go for it.

If you want to overland and rock crawl beyond where 35s will take you, then by all means either gut the Mojave suspension or trade for a Rubicon and have to do the same thing. To me, the thought of doing the type of overloading that would require 37" tires and an all new suspension stresses me out and sucks all the joy out of it. One of those YMMV things. Me, I'd rather put my money into the camping gear and gas instead of the Jeep. Even a stock Sport is already an overlanding vehicle.

This was a very good video and I learned a lot.

I bought my Mojave without any plans to heavily modify it; far and away the best out of the box Gladiator ride. I had read that the Mojave suspension was not easy to modify for a variety of reasons which was fine since I had no intention to change anything.

However, after watching the video, I have resigned myself that I will have to replace the suspension... to accommodate a V8 swap that I never before knew I needed!

I was thinking about posting this as well. Interesting take on his Mojave and the point he made about what he did when adding weight to get the ride back. Since I am considering upgrading the bumpers and putting on a cap. I was thinking of reaching out to get a list of all the suggested components.

If you dig back to old posts from Ginger you'll find he at one time said the spacer lift was fantastic on the Mojave... That is drove perfect. Now he tells a different story. Sure aq 10k Teraflex long travel lift might be better, but that's not in the budget for the average person. They don't make the same money doing spacer lifts as they do selling a 10k long travel Teraflex lift...

I ran the ARB Classic Stubby and a Warn M8000-s on mine with a 1 inch Teraflex front spacer and Daystar 3/4 inch rear spacer, loaded my rig for a 4 month back country summer and had zero complaints. It drove fantastic with the extra 350-400lbs spread over the roof (canoe) and the bed being fully loaded with gear. Did it sit a bit lower, yes. Here is a pic from the trip up. I had 150lb just in my food barrels for the summer!! Canoe is 52.5lbs. Rubicon bed sliders. Fully full of all of my gear for truck camping, backpacking and a canoe expedition. Lots of crap in there. Tires are 35's.

The change in ride for adding stuff to the Mojave is being blown out of proportion (IMO). I just added a Smartcap, and the ride improved substantially over the stock trampoline bed feel.

I found mine to ride better with at least 100lbs in the bed.
