Just going to use a tap.
What style? Wire taps in general are a potential future point of failure in automotive wiring, especially for exterior wiring.

T taps. I've had them running in various vehicles (external use) for years. I might paint them with some liquid tape since it is a jeep. all taps are above the air filter, so if that gets submerged, I have bigger problems.

A waterproof "tap wrap" would be a cool little thing. A T shaped cover that snaps around the T taps...

It makes more sense to take the time to create a connector T between the factory connectors. Taps fail. They just do. Maybe not today, but they will eventually. Best case your lights stop working. Worst case you arc to ground. That’s a bad day.

It is. When I need to access that one, I remove the fender flare and liner as an assembly. I just buy white fender clips in advance as I usually break half a dozen of them.

I popped it off the holder and one wire clip in the fender and pulled it into the engine bay. Never again (until I get rubicon fenders - some day)
