My 2021 Texas Trail edition came with the Alpine system installed. Is it better than stock? Sure, but still underwhelming for me. So I started looking into how to make everything sound better. After changing the dash 3.5" speakers with Kicker 3.5". I changed out the knee and sound bar 4" to 6.5" DS18.

After looking at post after post on here about the subwoofer installs, I decided it was time to make a change to that. I landed on the vehicle built Skar audio box, 2 10" Skar VSD4 subwoofers, 1500W Skar amp and Audio Control LC2.

Removed the back seat and then started to try and get that infamous back panel off. I was so good at it that I broke off every single clip along the top of the back panel. The man that comes up with a way to remove it without breaking a single clip will be worth millions.

Entire Panel removed as well as the Factory Subwoofer.

Everything in position where it will sit. The factory plug was removed from the factory subwoofer. Using both the channels coming out to go to the LC2.

For sure no storage of places to use for ground. I went back with stud that was originally used to hold the factory subwoofer in place.

All wired and ready for the panel and seats to go back in.

Back panel installed back in place. Everything fits behind it and it tucked out of sight.

Looking at the unit through the grill. This set up allowed for plenty of air flow around everything.

Everything installed back in and the subwoofers placed in the ported box built for the under seat area.

Really came out great and sounds insane. I took notes on a lot of post I've seen on here and put those things to work. Decided to document and write this up to maybe help the next person out.

It will work!!! I have teen kids that get in and out the back. Didn’t want someone to hit the 6.5” or 8”. Only reason I went with 10” up facing

Nice job. I gotta find a way to get my subs under the seat somehow but my 8s are too deep for that box. I would love to go forward facing I just don’t know if there’s room or not. I have the LC2i sitting in a box with an RP2000.1 and RP75.4, plus some Sundown 8s that I had leftover from an old build. Just gotta build myself a box already!

You could look into lifting the seat a little in order to accommodate the Sundown. Some of the vehicle built boxes require the seat to be lifted.

Yeah I’m thinking that’s the plan for now at least is lifting the seat. Had to do the same in my Silverado, wasn’t too difficult.

OP that is a Very clean install!

Is the LC2 just a high to low level adapter for the sub? I was also under the impression the stock sub was 4 channels based off the wiring.

Yes, I'm using the signal coming to the old factory subwoofer and dropping it down for an RCA output. The LC2 also removes any factory bass "cut off" manufacturing uses to protect the speakers. Upon looking at the old sub, it appeared to be some sort of 3 voice coil system. There are six wires in the factory plug. Figured out the signal channels (2) and ran those to the LC2 as the input.

Could you post some pictures of the seats down so we can see how far the box sits forward compared to the seat.

Yeah I’ll get you one. It doesn’t go past the front of the seat though.
