My 2021 Texas Trail edition came with the Alpine system installed. Is it better than stock? Sure, but still underwhelming for me. So I started looking into how to make everything sound better. After changing the dash 3.5" speakers with Kicker 3.5". I changed out the knee and sound bar 4" to 6.5" DS18.
After looking at post after post on here about the subwoofer installs, I decided it was time to make a change to that. I landed on the vehicle built Skar audio box, 2 10" Skar VSD4 subwoofers, 1500W Skar amp and Audio Control LC2.
Removed the back seat and then started to try and get that infamous back panel off. I was so good at it that I broke off every single clip along the top of the back panel. The man that comes up with a way to remove it without breaking a single clip will be worth millions.
Entire Panel removed as well as the Factory Subwoofer.
Everything in position where it will sit. The factory plug was removed from the factory subwoofer. Using both the channels coming out to go to the LC2.
For sure no storage of places to use for ground. I went back with stud that was originally used to hold the factory subwoofer in place.
All wired and ready for the panel and seats to go back in.
Back panel installed back in place. Everything fits behind it and it tucked out of sight.
Looking at the unit through the grill. This set up allowed for plenty of air flow around everything.
Everything installed back in and the subwoofers placed in the ported box built for the under seat area.
Really came out great and sounds insane. I took notes on a lot of post I've seen on here and put those things to work. Decided to document and write this up to maybe help the next person out.
