I just had my Gladiator alarm system go off while the vehicle was sitting in my garage. Pressing unlock did not turn it off. I opened the door and started it up. It still kept honking. I pressed unlock, lock, unlock. I read TFM. I searched the internet. Nothing that I found worked. Finally after about 5 minutes, it quit on its own. Does anyone know the trick that I apparently am too dumb to figure out? Thanks.

Thanks. In the owners manual, the sections about pressing the panic button are if you have connected services. I have opted not to turn on connected services. I have the factory security system, but chose not to initiate connected services.

But next time I will give pressing the panic button a try and see if it turns off the beeping, lights, flashers, etc.

Thank you.

Ignore the bits about the panic button and connected services - that's about vehicle finder and so on. That's the wrong part of the book.

If the horn and lights were triggered by the panic button, press it again,
or...............

I just had this happen to me. Hitting the panic button on my key fob was the only thing that worked after using the key in the door. After starting the truck and moving the truck. After hitting the unlock button several times as well as hitting lock and then unlock several times.

Opening the door using the key will always set the alarm off. You have to use the FOB, or the remote functions, to unlock and disarm it before opening the door. If you have the proximity feature, the alarm is turned off automatically when you grab the handle to open the door. If the alarm is set off, it usually requires use of the panic button to turn it off.

. If you have the proximity feature, the alarm is turned off automatically when you grab the handle to open the door.
Note: Only if the keyfob is detected.

True, but the door won't unlock when you grab the handle unless the FOB is detected.
Correct, ….. that’s what I said earlier……. 🤔
