People Work?
I loved my Jeep Gladiator Rubicon Diesel, it was my fifth Jeep. With all the warranty and recalls dealing with incompetent dealerships I met my breaking point after my last recall experience and traded it for a new Chevy ZR2. When every time my Jeep would go in for warranty work or a recall the dealerships seem to be clueless as to what they were doing. Through the years I have searched for competent Jeep dealers in the Omaha Nebraska area even outside the city and all are just as bad. Some of the issues I've had... 200 mile joy ride in my Jeep while in the shop for warranty work. Returned with an empty tank, paid for work and found the work had not been performed, incompetent mechanics that can not diagnose anything. If they plug in a scanner and it does not tell them what the problem is they are clueless, poor communication among all service personnel, service managers that know very little about cars especially Jeeps, and poor management on all levels. Heck, they even lost my Jeep the last time. I filled out the survey as they asked and a manager called me. We talked for quite awhile then I noticed he had limited knowledge of vehicles as well. This was a large city dealership. I'm sad but I couldn't take it anymore.
Larger cities usually have more than one CJDR store.
You're in no way obligated to stick with the one you bought from.

Fuel filter, bottoming out stock suspension, def issues causing you not to be able to start it, hot weather derating, etc. the people that don’t have issues love them. But there’s a reasonable list of owners with lots of issues.
Genuine question, what are the filter issues outside of it being part of maintenance? Note that replacing fuel filters has been regular maintenance on every diesel I’ve owned, albeit the newer models are more sensitive.

I honestly thought you were going to give a list of issues but I don’t really see anything noted. Stuff like that scares away potential diesel owners and that’s unfortunate. I still love mine, and if it weren’t for the diesel I wouldn’t buy a Gladiator at all. To each their own
Yep.. I watch oil temps, keep the filters and oil fresh, run it hard and put up wet.

My apologies. I meant fuel pump and mistyped. They’ve had issues with failing fuel pumps. It’s a recall as I understand.

Oh yeah.. lots of issues there. Hopefully the hardened component pump we’re supposed to get fixes it.

That’s never bothered me to be honest. I even put a deposit on a used 21 with 11k miles out of state that the dealer couldn’t sell me due to a bad pump, and I ended up buying a new 22 from the same place instead. I’ve been on the waiting list for the recall for what seems like a year now with absolutely no interest in pushing the issue to speed it up. The percentage is so small but you don’t hear about people praising their fuel pumps for not failing. All you hear is the bad and it seems like a lot even though there are thousands of diesels without issues.

I’m genuinely glad to hear that. It did sound like a pretty bad problem. Probably short lived anyway. I’m guessing the stupid 4xe that hasn’t been improved in 5 years will kill the diesel.

Sadly yes, and when that time comes this will likely be my last new Jeep as I refuse to drive a 3.6 in a truck.

Say what? This is not political. This is about poor service, poor training and greed. And you know... personal responsibility. Jeep dealership has given me the worst experience. And that's pretty much the general consensus.

On another note, I'm picking a 24' Toyota Sequoia tomorrow with their new twin turbo 6 hybrid engine. Wish me luck. LOL. Not replacing the Jeep. Despite my qualms, I like it too much to get rid of it. Will see about Toyota's rep for dependability with these new engines.

So I came to the Gladiator from a Z71 Colorado diesel. No doubt about it, the Colorado was a much better overall vehicle. I traded it after 6 years knowing a major emission or (another) turbo failure was right around the corner, and I was already starting to experience the typical Chevy electrical failures after 5 years, which get worse as time goes on. Bottom line, mileage doesn't matter over the first 5 years, but shit goes downhill quickly after that, based on several Chevy trucks I've had. It's the only brand I've had where I honestly suspected they were built to fail at a certain point. I've had really good experiences with Chevy dealers though, it's just not a truck I can trust after that 5 year mark.

No vehicle is perfect. The Gladiator fills a curiosity niche for me but after experiencing similar poor dealership experiences, it would take a lot for me to stick with Jeep after this one. I will probably go Toyota or back to Subaru for my next vehicle.

Seems to be a common theme - the Jeep dealerships in my area seem to be equally incompetent. I have dealt with everything from dealer damage to interior trim and bodywork repairs due to mechanic carelessness; poor ability to diagnose issues (9 months to isolate and fix a cel and rough idle); terrible customer service - never had loaner vehicles, could not get anyone to call back or answer phones/emails. It wasn’t just that ā€˜one’ dealer - the other local dealer damaged my wife’s new 23 Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve’s wheels when it was in for its first oil change. Dealer refused to replace them and wanted to paint them at a local airbrush shop. Her digital cluster went out and it took my getting Chrysler involved to get a loaner vehicle. Not sure if it’s a Jeep issue or just a sign of the times…

Here is my 2 cents There is no quality control anymore or competent employees that actually give a shit. Just happened this morning order a stk. bagel at MCD get to work BACON WTF.. So I had a 2020 glady - let me start my service manager is awsome. Have an issue I call him he orders the parts has a loaner waiting for me.
Now the 2020 and quality -the list replaced under warranty - both batteries, radio, valve cover gaskets, door lock ,inner fender, drums, calipers rotors ,pads ,driveshaft, rear axle ,steering box .at 60,000 miles lifters took out cam . I lost all confidence in the 2020 dealer still saying its a normal repair and you still have 40,000 miles left on warranty. I have owned jeeps the last 40 years.
I love this p/up so ,a month ago purchased a 2024 .
I feel your pain ,I hope you have better luck with your chevy . I am a JEEP MAN and I still smile everytime I look back at my GLADIATOR.good luck

Jeep was just trying to piss off the OP enough so that he would start his very first thread...! 😫

Just kidding!

On a more serious note: I have owned 12 Jeeps over the past 29 years. In that time, I have seen the quality of service decline; sadly, quite precipitously in the last 7-8 years alone.

After six months, this Gladiator is my best Jeep yet. Took it in for its first oil change and rotation. I was pleasantly surprised with the dealer getting everything scheduled and handled in a competent manner with no surprises.

But the new stuff coming out from Jeep these days does not speak to me; looks too foreign. This might very well be the last Jeep I own.
