Some people are hell-bent on saying:

"She didn't invent it", well...it seems she had a hand in popularizing it.
"I hate ducks/ducking", okay, and how did the rest of your day go?

I've gotten 2, and while it's all I need/care for, they were both pretty cool. First was a classic yellow duck, made me feel welcome. Second was a smaller blue one to sort of match my paint. They are paired together on my dash speaker grille.

At the end of the day, she had a passion and tried to make the world a better place with it.

As the age old adage says: "No harm, no fowl".

I dunno, I've spent a lot of time on the intertubes since the late 90s and watched society auger its self into the ground over that time. The increasing level of asshole-ish behavior is a secondary effect of Moore's Law.

BTT: May Allison rest in peace and her memory be a blessing. Yes, the ducks are silly and I'm not one to ever display them on my dash but if it brought a little a joy to this otherwise bleak world, it's a net positive.

Oh just a lot of the typical 'hate' people receive regardless of their life circumstance or situation. People hating on her for 'starting' something dumb, others calling her a liar and steeling credit, others just generally hateful things. I think I even saw someone saying they were glad she died because ducks are stupid. It doesn't really matter if a person thinks ducks are cool or stupid. The fact is it's terrible to talk so negative about someone who died early in life especially when all they wanted to do was bring some joy into the world.

Sure brought us some fun and enjoyment; several times I had young boys bring over a duck ( under a watchful eye of their mother hen ), and let me tell you, every single one was excited to hand out a duck. The look on their faces was better than anything I’ve seen on a Halloween.
