looking for experiences from those of you who've chosen one or the other and how things have gone since. the jeep gets wheeled frequently.

I have to make this decision ASAP myself
attached is what the jeep used to look like and an example of what I mean by "metallic finish" while none of the parts on the red jeep are the same as what I chose, the amount of wheel well exposed is similar

As much as I love nacho, I still would rather have the black top and fenders to contrast the bright color.

you're right its pretty intense. does the fact that I'm moving to a '24 style grill painted like this sway your opinion at all?

No, I still prefer the contrast of the black fenders to the nacho body. That said, both rigs in the above picture look great! Do whichever you like most, it's your ride brother!

If it were me I would color match personally. To me it gives a classy look. Dating all the way back to the war, fenders have always been color matched. The JK was the stepchild and it seemed to stick for some reason. Every time I see painted fenders I think it looks better than black.

Like @Camaroboi13 said, it looks a bit nicer with matching fenders and roof, unless it’s a soft top. I had a CJ7 in the early 80’s, Willys Overland Wagon in the 90’s, ā€˜48 CJ2a, JKR and a JTR all with body matching fenders. I understand why people would like the black fenders and hard top but, I think it looks like patchwork. I’m very old school, I don’t even like square lights anywhere on a Jeep, Jeep.

My three jeeps right now are my style and more of the original style, no angry eyes or deep dishes. Pick the one you like best and go with it and hope your taste doesn’t change later.
