2023 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon diesel
Greetings everyone. This is my first post and it's a wild one. Having a serious steering issue that I need help with.

I have a 2023 Jeep Gladiator ecodiesel, 2.5 in Icon lift and 35s. Had the lift installed in Jan this year and have put 10,000 miles on since the lift was installed. Never had an issue with the steering.

This morning, I started the jeep, started to drive am experiencing the following issues:

1. Somehow steering wheel is off center by 100/110 degrees while the wheels are pointing straight.
2. I have a message on the dash that stats " Service Stability Control".
3. A UO428 code (Invalid data received from steering angle sensor).
4. ABS is engaging while driving when no braked are applied.

I know this is crazy. I promise, this thing drove perfect yesterday. No issued at all. I have hit nothing and have not been wheeling in weeks. I took it to the dealership today and they stated that whoever installed the lift did not do an alignment. I told them it was perfect for the last 6 months and that this occurred overnight. Thay stated that my story does not make since but attempted to do an alignment which did not work.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Drag link is either stripped or came loose. You can adjust it yourself, I believe it’s a 15mm nut but a pair of pliers works too.

Either someone hit your passenger side front tire, or your drag link is broke/screwed up.

You can try and adjust your drag link, loosen nut and bolt and turn the adjuster clockwise until steering wheel is correct.

IF your passenger side front tire has been hit, you need to have a bunch of parts checked across the front axle.

** When you get the steering wheel back to normal, your faults will disappear.

I think theres a chance someone backed into one of your tires. Either way, lay under the jeep with it on flat ground and have someone turn the wheels lock to lock white its running in park.

Unfortunately, not the drag link. It is snug. The tech at the dealership attempted to do an alignment and the link is now fully collapsed. No further adjustment is possible, and the wheel is still 45 deg off center. Thanks though...

So the steering shaft might have slipped or stripped. You would have to straighten the wheels, unbolt the pitman arm, center the steering wheel, then reattach the pitman arm.

Or like some said above, someone hit your tire and it’s way out of whack now.

Was the vehicle parked inside a garage or outside where it may have gotten hit? Are there any other people in the house that may have had access to the key and driven it without your knowledge?

Something is missing from the story, specifically the part where the steering wheel went from being straight on in synch with the wheels to cocked off by over 90 degrees. If something was left loose during the lift install or a part failed/slipped, it should have been readily apparent that things were awry as you turned the steering wheel but didn't get a response up front for over a quarter turn. If the wheel and steering were just magically off that much between parking it the previous night and going to drive it the next day, then the only logical reasons would be an impact or something that occurred when somebody else operated it without you knowing in the interim.

Something is off with the drag link ran out of adjustment.

Place the axle on jack stands. Center steering wheel and see if the wheels are still parallel with each other, check toes. Have someone turns steering wheel back and forward and checks to ensure every components are in sync. Starting from the steering yoke, pitman arm, passenger side draglink/TRE and driver TRE.

I believe the pitman arm is keyed. It only goes on one way.

Done. The steering angle is definitely off. Full left lock only turns about half of its normal range of motion and full right lock turns well into the fender wells. Starting to think you guys are right that someone hit the front left tire. I have a stubby bumper, so the tire is fully exposed from the front. Wondering if an impact could have spun the gear box

Sounds similar to this recent thread, check for a bent pitman arm --> https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/...-shifted-gearbox-question.83294/#post-1351936
