If they are hitting 200k then I'm happy with my choice. I remember older VW diesels ( when I was a tech) hitting the 300k mark, and that was with conventional oil at the time.
We are now seeing the 2nd gen EcoDiesel (2014 - 2019) with over 500,000 miles. My buddy sent me this picture last night. This is his 2015 EcoDiesel.

Have you heard of any turbo issues??
The turbos are very reliable on the EcoDiesel, some lasting 500,000 miles. I would encourage you to follow the turbo cool down times that are printed in the owner's manual.

Good advice. Biodiesel... I remember early 2000s people were modifying there ALH vw diesels for running on cooking oil ( fryalator oil), if they didn't process it correctly or cut it with diesel fuel, it clogged like a bad artery. I'm sure the technology has improved since...

There are a few EcoDiesel owners blending waste vegetable oil with #2 diesel with good results. Personally, I won't run more than B20 with stock tuning. So far, I've had good UOA results.

Welcome! After driving VW diesels for the past 21 years (my 2012 had 465k before it got totaled), I opted for a 2021 diesel Gladiator last July and love it! Just got the fuel pump replaced.

One thing I remember about the common rail diesel vw used after the pumpeduse, was the exhaust flap that would close, and revert the exhaust back to the secondary egr or canisters ( OR where ever it went ). New England winter road salt destroyed those things. Sorry to hear your car got totaled, hope you walked away with out a scratch.

Can you ask your friend if all the emissions are still on it. That milage is amazing. Thats a lot of miles per year of driving.

513,000 is 57,000 miles per year, or 4,750 per month, or 156 miles per day.

No, the truck is deleted, but it was bone stock for about 230,000 miles. He also had a 2014 Ram EcoDiesel with 410,000 miles before it was totaled in an accident. They have a third Ram EcoDiesel (2018) now with around 250,000 miles. It was deleted at 170,000 miles

He drives approximately 8,000 - 10,000 miles per month. His son also drives one of the trucks, but he only puts on about 5,000 - 6,000 miles per month.

Delivered today! Tires are scrubbed but I can deal with the tire noise until I replace them. I Did about an 80 mile shake down after filling the tank and adding hotshot. Fuel filter is on order. Ran like a champ. Glad I waited!
