Hi all, I just got me a sweet 2020 Gladiator Rubicon that's pretty well optioned out with the exception of the forward trail cam, I'm wondering if this can be added without too much hassle. Thanks and here's a picture of my new (to me), Gladiator.

It's a good question and I'm curious too. That's one of the list of things missing from my rig.

Would a Tazer be able to flash the thing so it would communicate with the 8.4" TV screen?

There are a couple possibilities. Search for the threads here and you'll find the answers.

The Tazer people make an aftermarket solution that is relatively easy to add. There's also users who have completely retrofitted the OEM camera but it's much more involved and expensive. IIRC the parts cost was well north of $1k.

Thanks, I did do a search (I knew that was going to come up), but couldn't find what I was looking for. Guess I'll give it another try but in my experience unless you happen to choose the correct wording then you'll not find what you're looking for.

I **think** it's DailyDrivenTJ that did the OEM retrofit.

There is a thread in the DIY section. The OEM camera can be added, but it's a lot of parts and a lot of work.

ZAutomotive created a kit that allows a camera to be added using the Cargo Camera input on the 8.4 Uconnect head unit. There are clones of it available on Amazon. Jscan, AlfaOBD, or a Tazer is needed to activate the camera input.

Thank you guys, I did find the thread and yeah it's way more involved than what I want to do!

I added the trail cam to my factory order. Offroad I have no use and it serves almost no purpose for me. Not worth the extra money. I do turn it on in certain parking situations. Lame.

Trail cam is way easier to add than the adaptive cruise... Man I wish I had adaptive cruise.
I specifically ordered without adaptive cruise. I know its a personal choice, but not for me. Wife's Sienna has it and I'm not a fan. Had regular CC for the past 2 years on the Jeep and no complaints.

Thanks for the inputs. I haven't got time to be goosing around with a bunch of parts. I only barely had time to run a 12V cig lighter socket to the bed, hardwired from the main battery. It would probably be quicker for me to add to the build sheet on my next one for a couple years down the road...

I don't have ACC in my Gladiator, but have it in my commuter car and I hate the shit out of it. That and all the safety alerts while driving are enough to make me crash and die. In the name of safety.

I added it awhile back. Super easy.

There are kits available, but I just sourced the parts individually. It was a less expensive. The video quality is nowhere near the factory, but it helps having some eyes up front when off road.

I'm sure you have it, but the addition only works on the 8.4 head units, not the 7 inch.

Good luck!

I bought the front camera from Zautomotive as I already had the Tazer mini. It took 1.5 to 2 hours to install and has a great picture just as good as the rear camera. Very easy to install and an amazing upgrade to have on the trails.
