Advice on price for new 2023 Gladiator Rubicon

Hello!
First post here. I have a 2015 JKUR, my daughter has a 2010 JK Islander and I used to have a '05 TJ.
I am in the market for a Gladiator.
I found a leftover new (16 miles) Rubicon, hardtop, OEM machined wheels, mud tires, floor mats, heated seats for just under $61K sticker (yeah, I know, laughable).
The dealer is offering it a $42.5K plus tax/title/license.
I want to get it down to $40K plust TTL.
What does the forum say? Is this a good price? I am aware that very soon this will be a 2-year old jeep....

That sounds like a solid offer to me. Even if he doesn't bite what he's asking is a good deal as long as the warranty begins when you purchase it...

I’d make that deal in a heartbeat… and I’m even considering ditching the JT for a different platform.

To put things into perspective, CarMax just offered me $37,000 for my 2021 32,000 mile JTRD with nothing but aux, proximity, 8.4 and a hard top. The 8.4 and proximity are standard features on the 23.

It doesn’t hurt to offer 40 but 42.5k is already a great deal. If it is optioned like you want it, I wouldn’t let it get away.

23 models are all over the internet listed, Autotrader had over 500 listed last time I looked.

All that will will happen is everyone will go from, I'll buy right now, to wish I were closer.

Settling at $40K plus tax title registration.
Equates to about 34% off sticker. Helped that at the end I got a Stellantis discount number from a friend. Once I sign the deal I’ll share dealership name
