The blue nitrile gloves are good for that type of use.
That's what I use every time I fill up. For one, I don't want my hands smelling like diesel, but I also don't want them to smell like fuel additives.

I'm so tired of the rotopax.
I know what you mean. I started out carrying 5-gallon jugs. You can see one of the yellow jugs in the picture below. On this trip, we drove through Nevada where fuel is very limited, especially when towing. I soon learned that it was very inconvenient to carry and transfer fuel from jugs, especially using the double flap filler neck. We finally got the 40-gallon auxiliary fuel tank and that made things so much easier.

I used to put them on everytime I went outside, usually with work gloves over the top of them. The COVID panic made them expensive and harder to get. The prices are back down, but now I think about whether I really need them for what I have planned. I did learn, through it all, that I could wash with the nitrile gloves on and get more use out of them.

I try to reuse mine when I can. I remove them carefully and let them air out for the next time. It's a good way to save a little money when it makes sense to do so.

I just looked up the long range America tank and says it's not compatible with the diesel. Is yours a diesel?
Definitely would be nice to get a longer range.
No, I have the gasser

Check out long ranger aux tanks. They’re out of Australia but have a North American distributor in Vancouver bc. Got one for my 3.6 gasser look at their price and see if it quotes CAD or USD their price was cheaper than long range America and no exhaust mods.

I just had this custom-made slip tank for my truck built and installed in the back for my diesel. it has a gravity valve in it that allows it to fill up while you’re driving and it’s tied into my auxiliary three switch so it will not work when the truck is turned off. I’m just filling my tank while driving for the first time after putting 100 L into it and it’s slow as fuck. It’s taking over an hour and a half to go from an eighth of a tank to full but it works and that’s all I care about the tank should hold close to 120 L full and with the diesel that’s an extra two tanks of fuel.

Do you have a vent valve on top of the tank? If you don't, you should. It will fill up the other tank faster.

Not currently, but it’ll be something I’ll look into. I honestly don’t care how long it takes as I’m often driving for several hrs

I would guess that my auxiliary pumps are pumping approximately 1 gallon per minute. I've got a digital display that tells me roughly how full the tanks are. I've never timed it, but I'm guessing it would take 25 minutes to pump 25 gallons. Mine will auto fill once it gets down to about a 1/4 tank, or I can push the small red button to activate the pump. The pump will run for a set period of time unless I push the button a second time to shut the pump off.

That's correct. I have digital display on both trucks. The 2015 Ram EcoDiesel has a 40-gallon tank. The 2020 Ram EcoDiesel has a 37-gallon tank and toolbox combo. The pump transfers fuel directly to the OE tank.

I was thinking about installing one on the Jeep, but I have decided against it. Instead, I will carry a portable fuel cell and use a battery-operated pump to transfer fuel from the fuel cell to the filler neck.

Well, mine is diesel not gas, so it’s less stinky all around. On the other hand it’s oily and tends to stick around forever when it does spill. I have a pair of chemical-proof gloves in a giant, thick ziploc bag with the pump and nozzle adapter. That works pretty well.

The Titan also comes with a simple Safety Siphon - shake it to start flowing, that’s it. Very simple. I used it successfully for a couple years but very cold diesel is so viscous, I found it sometimes hard to start and always very slow in the cold. Not a problem for gasoline. If you give the Sidekick a try, I’d see how the siphon works for you first.

My one other critique of the siphon though is that the hose would stay kinked after being folded in storage for a while. Ideally you’d store it wound on some circular form to prevent kinks.
Howes Diesel Treatment will help with fuel gelling up. I use it in the winter months in Canada for my diesel. You’ll note that it says to use a larger amount on a small tank (65 L or 18 Gallons for example) rather than a large tank would use (>350 L or 118 Gallons. The reason for this is large tanks like what’s used on tractors will have larger diameter fuel line and way larger engines. So the amount used to reduce the gelling effect from cold is far less! I typically use 45-55 ML (or 1.6-1.9 Fluid Ounces) per tank… Wrll I’m using Howes Meaner Kleaner in the warmer months, and that measurement is actually for it, not the Anti-Gel, but think you all can understand the comparison.

Additionally, I’ve figured out that my Custom Slip Tank hold approximately 130 Liters (34.34 Gallons) of fuel:)
