Even though I do a fair amount of idling, fuel dilution hasn't been an issue with any of my EcoDiesel trucks. UOA results have always come back good.
Can I see your last UOA?

The Jeep is still on the factory fill. I probably won't change engine oil until it turns 5,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first. The build date is 12/06/2023, but I purchased the Jeep on 4/12/2024. Technically, to meet warranty, I don't need to change the oil until 4/12/2025.

Oh I see, you did UOA on the Ram Truck? Did you post your Ram one some where?

Yes, I've posted each one in the "Official 2020+ EcoDiesel Oil Recommendations" thread. I can also post my last 5 results here:

Thanks for the posting. Looks like 2x more wear over the the latest one on the Ram 3rd gen I saw William post with MR tune (post combustion fuel stopped or greatly reduced with that tune).

Yup, in this case, good tuning will reduce wear metals on the 3rd gen EcoDiesel. With that said, I'm planning to leave mine stock for several more years.

I was thinking the same thing so I spoke with Martin MR. He said he could do a complete stock tune BUT remove the post combustion fueling for less metal grinding. He leaves the rest all legal and clean which I like. I bought 2 new ECUs to toy with the idea. I can clone them with the right tool I can buy and send it to be done. I also was toying with the idea with doing the tune my self on the fueling but would need to get more info on it. I do have access to all the tuning courses from HP Academy. I do love the derringer and it is the safest way to get power while running tuning that controls AF properly based on the correct volume of air. IT also protects the trans from momentarily pulling power during shifts.

Does the derringer adjust post combustion fuel? I'm curious to learn how that was determined to be the source of high aluminum in our oil if you have any papers?

There’s a technical Facebook group led by William Stox and there many of us provided oil samples with Y 81 dealer software update as well as stock software tune. We saw the Y 81 on ram trucks especially increase wear metals substantially. Then after tuning, we did more samples that turned off post combustion fueling. This reduced fuel dilution but most of all it greatly reduced the cylinder wall washing that was preventing lubrication from doing its job. After the tuning where metals go down into the teens.

That might be true with some folks, but I didn't have that issue. I had the recall completed on April 6th, 2022. But I'm also one of the very few that uses their truck mostly for towing.

Yes if you had Y81 done, it would look much worse but did you see the new numbers on a Ram William posted? 16 Iron with and forgot what the Aluminum was but low. It had 5k or so on the oil.

I assume that you're talking about your oil temp? Most likely 100*F is the minimum digital reading from a cold start, therefore that might not be the actual oil temp.
Not sure if the gauge is different, but I know I’ve for sure seen well under 100 on my data monster. I know because in the winters I usually like to let it warm for at least a minute to two until it hits the low 90’s… albeit my winters are not as cold as some of you may have.

An aftermarket scan gauge will give you much more data than the factory display. Where did you mount your data monster?
