You don't want a hurricane.........ask a Mopar tech.

The more viable and reliable option is only a Hemi OR at HO version of the 2.0T with eTorque. I have the 2.0T eTorque in my JLUR and that thing is way better than the 3.6........instant torque and it's a rev happy SOB.

Just a thought but…Many on here will know it, right now the Biggest Cheese at Stellantis is crafting a new direction for his errr…investment ..I guess its the right way to frame it.

And with this said; I believe it’s a good time to SPELL OUT CLEARLY what Jeep needs to do to the Gladiator, (and Wrangler) to get your money and earn their honey.

I’ll kick things off by saying;
1.Hurricane
2. Hurricane and
3. Hurricane. And
4. Full floater rear/high payload variant.
5. Stripped back, work/trades/resources utility variant trim level w steel 17’s.
6.reconsider not abandoning diesel

More paint colors from the 70’s and 80’s.
I have told them repeatedly. I want a vehicle that doesn't have body panels that are oil canned and look like it was painted with a Windex spray bottle in a windstorm, right from the factory. I want one that doesn't have electrical codes regularly. I want one that has an electric back window on the hardtop like every other high end pickup on the market. But it doesn't matter. They never try to defend themselves, they just tell me they appreciate my feedback and strive to build great vehicles, blah, blah, blah. So how about just sell the Jeep brand to GM and let them put efficient small block LS engines with 8L80 transmissions in them. All of this is a waste of time. They don't care. Have a Merry Christmas regardless.

  • That's just laziness at the factory and the crap I'd expect from British Leyland in 1972.)

Comparisons between British Leyland and STLA sadly are not that far fetched.

1. Bring back the diesel
2. Corrects all the well known issues
3. Another engine choices
4. Offer a Mopar bed hard topper that looks similar to the JL with an option for swing tailgate conversion.
5. Onboard air compressor
6. Lower the MSRP by atleast $10k across the board 😂

I've been calling them American Leyland for a few years now.

I honestly think Stellantis is in competition with Nissan-Mitsubishi for who can make the most prolific rental nugget.

LOL @ American Leyland.

Don't leave out GM. There isn't a rental lot in the country that isn't chock full of crappy, poverty spec Malibus and Equinoxes along with their Buick and Cadillac counterparts.

What are the specific issues getting flagged wrt Hurricane six shooter?

i like 2.0L to. But for wrangler. Not Gladiator.

I still want Hurricane, they need to dial the issues out. It’s the hero motor of this era

If it’s got some issues, then they have to dial it out so they’re dealing with.

I hope Stella is reading this stuff. It’s good info for them.

What’s work?
I personally like the idea of a stripped down, no frills, I mean zero frills, limited model for the hardcores. But how many will they realistically sell? For every 100 Jeeps, how many actually see dirt, sand, and rocks? Not many. And I don't mean driving up a rural gravel driveway. I mean actual wheelin'. But who wants to pay 50 grand or more for something that they're immediately gonna modify and bash to pieces? They'll just buy a used one, yeah?
That’s exactly why I didn’t wheel mine much when I had it, instead I used a $300 Grand Cherokee and put 5K into it. I’m not liquid enough to beat the shit out of a $50K truck.

Granted. Would it go harder than a Hurricane? It kind of is the 4.0 of the day no?
