A quick search showed custom C channel bumpers on a different forum that I used to be active on.
Granted these bumpers were on JK's but the same would still apply to JL & JT.

I think a custom bumper could be made pretty easily if I am envisioning what you are thinking about

Six hundred dollars for a 2x4 😂
It also has an integrated Winch plate and removable bumper extensions, but yeah 600 is a lot. I'd personally rather look for a used Rubicon steel front bumper.

This is exactly the look that I am going for….but I agree $600 for a 2x4 is insane. But the photo will assist me in finding a welder dude or dudette to whip one up for me

I will say, I made a "CJ" style front bumper for my JK, just the steel alone was I think 150-200 bucks. Not to mention the cost of integrating a winch plate onto it, painting it, drilling all mounting holes, etc. 600 is pricey, but its not terrible IMO.

That's the beauty of the older Jeeps, it's simpler to fabricate stuff for 'em. I made the bumper for my CJ. (It hadn't been painted black yet when the pic was taken) It's also an air tank for the York compressor.

I don’t see why it’s insane personally. Looks to be a small operation. It has to be worth their while doesn’t it?

your lot need to get off China pricing elrapido. Nows a good time to give reshoring prices a try

If its of any concern to you……but I thought I’d mention it…..

Changing the bumper may change and/or alter the safety mechanism that were designed to protect you in an accident. Airbag deployment, crumble zones…yadda yadda.

Also…. Your insurance company could deny coverage - if they can determine those safety mechanisms didn’t function ‘as intended’ when they should’ve.

@ Gregj - that is exactly what I've been looking for, simple, clean, old school look, can you share the name of the manufacture and/or a link to order one? Thanks and happy trails.

I made the bumpers, both front and rear, out of a piece of 6x6 1/4 wall square tube. Split it down the middle and drilled/cut holes for mounting bolts and fog lights. Welded in the d ring mounts.
If I did it again I would probably use 3/16 wall as it is heavy.
