I have even used the current plan lol.

It's less effort fore to do my own oil changes and rotations in my 3 car garage.

Yeah getting a loaner from my local dealer is a crapshoot.

I just scheduled an appointment for some warranty work for 10 FEB, so I should be able to get one this time

No, for a few reasons. One my local dealer isn’t horrible, but they’re not great either so them working on my rI’m for an Oil changes isn’t something I would go out of the way for. Second tire rotation they only do four if you want a five tire rotation, you have to pay them for it. Which is stupid and I get free rotations at discount tire so one less reason to take it to the dealer.

Oh last reason again because of the dealer, their drive-through oil change often has wait times in the hours so you have to make an appointment which is counterintuitive to swinging in and getting a chore done that you can do in any other oil monkey place.

Or just do it yourself in the time it takes to drive to the dealership and back.

Compare the cost of the Wave Plan renewal with the price of separately paying for the services included. When I renewed with my previous truck, the Wave Plan was cheaper than just paying for the number of Oil changes included. Of course, you need a dealer that you are comfortable with to do the work.

The Wave Plan that came with my current truck only included two Oil changes. I did the first change at 3k miles and had a Wave change and tire rotation done at 9k miles. I'll do another change this summer, and use the last Wave change and rotation just before the plan expires. Then I'll look at the cost of the Wave renewal and what it includes.

Time is money.

So the time wasted waiting at the dealer or adding the cost of an Uber to and from the dealer is way more expensive then my cost to do an oil change.

I was able to go to the dealer, without an appointment, and get the Wave Service completed and be gone within 90 minutes. Of course, not everyone has a dealer available they are comfortable with that can do that.

I haven't used my Wave service yet. Does anyone know if it's a thorough multipoint inspection or literally only the oil and out the door?

It depends on the dealer. Mine included a full inspection with printed results.

Here's the minimum value of bring-your-own-oil service at the dealer.

Dealer's choice motor oil from Walmart and oil filter from dealer parts department:
$57.39 = (($26.98+$7.56)*(100%+8.25%)+$20.00), including sales tax of 8.25% and $20 for "labor-only" oil change

Copy & paste the calc into a search engine to verify the total or make changes

I use Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil & filter, so the value is a bit higher:
$64.72 = (($29.97+$11.34)*(100%+8.25%)+$20.00)

Oil & filter only: A dealer may charge the price of the cheapest oil change, charge a labor-only rate, or do it for free (on a good day and if you're lucky)
- I have been charged "all of the above" by my two closest dealers; I have Warranty Forever (by NWAN), and am not allowed to change the oil myself

Other services:
Rotate & balance: Free (with purchase of tires) at Discount Tire (also see post #5 above), but every extra trip to any repair shop costs time & money
Rental: My two closest dealers have trained us not to expect a rental, and getting one might require divine intervention (also see post #3 and post #4 above)

Plus an excuse to drink beer in the garage listening to metal.

Well, collecting on the trip interruption and getting a rental is practically worthless. Most dealers usually run oil change and tire rotation special in the $70-$90 range. I do not see value in it.

Like mentioned, can do all that yourself for a fraction of it.
