I dont know if this is rust, or if the paint has chipped off. What can I use to restore it?

I used rustoleum truck bed liner on some skidplates and step bars. It comes in a rattlecan and is a pretty close match to the factory color and texture and has held up really well. Obviously it’s not an exact so you’ll want to spray the whole bumper after you prep it.

Probably still want to paint the whole bumper to account for fading etc... if you want it to match. I think I can almost hear mine rusting in the parking lot as I'm typing this.

I second the use of Rustoleum truck bed liner. Blends in very well. When I took the end caps off my bumper, it was all scratched up with exposed metal. The Rustoleum made it look like new.

Rustoleum is the way to go. Spray lightly and keep a good distance away from bumper to avoid heavy areas or runs. Very close to OEM.

This for sure! the texture if sprayed correctly is spot on.

While we're here ... What color rattle can equates to Rubicon Red? For the tow hooks.

Rust-Oleum truck bed liner.

I bought some used Rubicon rock rails. Scuffed, sprayed rust converter, then top coat with the bed liner.

Looks almost identical to the OEM finish. Easy to touch up and cheap.

Just make sure to treat or remove any surface rust.

I just used the Rust-Oleum textured black for the Chinese knockoff low bar. Texture is an exact match, it's slightly more shiny at first, but will even out.
