I found a fairly new pair of Mojave Shocks on FB in my area.

Current Build

Standard OEM Rubicon Suspension with Fox Shocks.
1.5" Terraflex Spacer in Front

Short answer.......yes, they can be made to physically work.

Longer answer.......WHY? First they will be too short, but you could add spacers. The valving is already too soft for the diesel with the OEM Fox shocks IMO and the Mojave shocks which were valved for a even lighter gas truck steer axle is bound to be just as bad. Also keep in mind that the diesel springs are a higher rate than a Mojave, so there is going to be a mismatch in desired valving vs ride frequency.

Save your pennies for the proper product!

Pretty sad when someone has to ask IF they read the whole post before responding, but that IS where we are as a society unfortunately.

Yes, I read it and you aren't running anything special. Diesel JT, spacers on OEM coils and Rubi Fox shocks. I ran like that for months before I dove in, started getting the good stuff, and tuning shocks.

For the cheap solution, I would probably slap some 5100's of the appropriate size on it. Drive/use it for a while and decide what your goals really are. Then step up to the pay window and get the good stuff?

How long is a string? Depends on what your goals are and if that has to include labor as asked above.

Many of the systems I put together are over $10K installed.....again depends on use, expectations, and budget. The shocks I have been using for the higher end stuff are $3500-5500.

To just drive down strait highway and crawl malls, don't need much.

Metalcloaks 2.5 game changer lift with rocksport reds and a new front driveshaft fall under that 5.5k budget. Gives everything you need for a lift and then some. Then if you want to go to a 3.5 lift it's just a spring swap and you add a tiny bit of length to the adjustable arms.

It’s an ok lift, but I think the aftermarket options around that price are better.

You can get an aftermarket kit with a set of adjustable arms and an adjustable track bar (or 2) for about the same price.

Mojave shocks are about a 1/4 shorter all around and the front has larger diameter bolt holes. The diesel might as well but I can’t confirm. The problem here is that the front isn’t valve adequately to deal with diesel spring rates and engine weight. If you want a 2.5 bypass shock. Head over to accutune and get their free custom valving on some fox elite shocks.

I've heard before that you need a new front driveshaft when a JL or JT lift reaches 3". Is this because of accelerated wear, or do the angles quit working? FWIW, my stock driveshaft is not the normal type Ujoint, but more of a CV design. Also, my 2020 gladiator has a front axle disconnect. Doesn't this mean that the front drive shaft is not turning in 2-wheel drive?

My recommendation would be to use shock relocation brackets if you want to use Mojave shocks. My other recommendation is to use shocks tuned for this application for better results.

The actual lift height isnt the determining factor, its the shocks down travel that determines if you need a new driveshaft. I believe if they have a down travel of 28.75"-30" (not exactly sure the exact number) then you need a new one

Yep, 28.5"ish front shock length is where the Rzeppa joint at the t-case starts to bind up. That is the limiting factor.

MC really maximizes downtravel by specing their own shocks, the Rocksports are usually about 1" more travel than the competition.

All that said, I'd gladly forego the extra 1" travel in favor of a good IFP shock for much better damping and that is supported in the aftermarket.
