I love the 38x12.50 size, but thinking I might like the 11.50 better! Wish there were more options in these sizes as I'm not super impressed with the Ridge Grapplers overall. The 11.50 is also "D" rated.

What are the issues with the Ridge Grapplers?
Need something with better snow performance?

Also, the 11.50 is 6.5 lbs lighter even with a higher load rating.

Traction overall in any terrain I wasn't impressed in comparison to the Cooper STT Pros I ran before.....The Coopers were noisy and did wear faster, so that's why we chose the hybrid tire this time and they are much quieter.

There is also this strange balance/vibration issue that is completely random that comes and goes with no pattern enough to track it down. I can hang the tires on the balancer with a zero reading and have it be smooth in the morning, but shake the truck in the afternoon.....It might be totally smooth for an entire 400 weekend camping trip and shake Monday morning! I do a 5 tire rotation and all 5 tires have been in every position too.....

When they were new, there was a weird tight vibration that felt like a bad rear driveline universal joint at about 26mph and came back at 52mph......I wrote it off as a harmonic created by the tread pattern, but a few people on here made the tires stores take them back because of it.

One other thing I have found annoying is how rough they feel as the tire pressure climbs with heat. I've even tried to re-valve the shocks around it, but can't shake it! I've noted the pressure seems to climb much more than any other tire I have installed on a JT to date.

I'd like to see the new Toyo Open Country R/T Trail or any brand for that matter in some 38" sizes!

Perfect size for my next tire! Never have liked the 13.50’s.

They should be about the same diameter as your 39" BFG's too?

Yeah, that's strange for sure.
Haven't heard of those issues outside of bias ply tires, seems odd for a modern radial.
Guessing you have checked the wheels for any buckling or damage that might cause a vibration?

Yeah, it would be great to see some other manufacturers bring out some 38" options.
There is another new Toyo, the R/T Pro, which seems like a slightly more aggressive R/T Trail so between the two of them you'd imagine there will be a 37x11.50 or 38x11.50 offering.

Oh ya....I've been through everything at least twice! It's maddening since I always fix these issues for clients, but my own truck is jerking me around?

The R/T Pro looks like an even better option in between a MT and AT! See what they come up with...... You would think offering up a 38" would be second nature being the parent company? Could create competition between the brands they don't want as well.......

Either way, I'll be replacing my Ridge Grappy's with another set assuming there aren't any other new comers when the time comes.

I have the Ridge Graps in 38x12.50r17 C. I mounted them beadlocked with no balancing. These tires have been smooth as silk for me. I am blown away how a tire this big can run with no weights, Traction offroad is a meh but I expected that.

Exactly what we are thinking as well. Trying to keep the stock tire width to minimize the overall track width. We’re trying for 37x11.5 but are definitely not excited about the Ridge Grapplers. Wish more manufactures would make 37/38x11.5’s.

Falken supposed to release the AT4 in 3rd quarter of this year in 38x13.5r17 d load
I’ll be interested to see the weight on them and how people like them. I was going to order 38’s but there aren’t many options and I didn’t want to pony up for the Apex Steering boost just to run them.
