I want to do the same... we have been meaning to get one for the RV, when we are at our apartment (second home) and also use it as backup for what we currently have... as we work from home and can't be without internet...This won’t be a permanent install, at least not at the moment. I went with the Gen 3 over the mini because I’ll also be using it for backup internet if and when my home internet goes out. I’m putting it in the jeep for those times we venture out of cell phone range. Powered off starlinks own (new) 12v adapter. The bar that holds it up is a variation of a gun rack someone posted on this forum a while back. It works through the hard top and coverking (no sound/foil insulation) while in motion. Just wanted to show that it is an option for those interested.

What is this 12volt adapter you mention? Do you have a link to it that you can share?I thought about getting the mini for conscience and portability BUT I wanted the best performance I could get and wanted a back-up for my home internet that supported all the throughput we needed in case I needed it.
I don’t know how to link it because you can only see it in the Starlink app (requires sign-in) under the shop tab. But here’s a screenshot. It’s a little pricey but I’m sure it’ll be More RF quiet (for my ham radios sake) than those cheaper Amazon versions. What is this 12volt adapter you mention? I really wish they’d come up with a dc adapter for the flat high performance panel.Thank you. No wonder I could not find it. Yes, a bit on the high price for what it is, but it is their brand. I rather go with that one than aftermarket.

For my high performance panel, mounted to my cross bars, I have the router and access point under the rear seat. Zero problems with Wi-Fi range. I can be 100’ from the Jeep and still get a great signal.I am still trying to decide between the standard and the mini for an semi permanent mount as we travel about every other month. For the standard where do you store the router portion?
How do you get the dish cable into the cab? I’m pondering an optional external mount for my dish but I’m stuck on the part where I need to get the cable into the cab without damaging it.For my high performance panel, mounted to my cross bars, I have the router and access point under the rear seat. I was very careful. I have the cable running back, then I have KC windshield wire mold (typically used to hide wire going to light bars above windshield) going along the rear windshield, and down, until it’s between the cab and bed. Then I’m going down and back up through a drain hole below the carver below the rear seat storage. In one spot where it’s within 12” of the exhaust, I covered it very well with heat resistant covering meant to protect things from engine heat. It’s been installed for almost two years, and I’ve had zero issues with it whatsoever. How do you get the dish cable into the cab? I can take some pictures later if anyone is interested. The wire mold would maybe bother some people aesthetically, but with my topper, it mostly blends in and no one notices it much. How do you get the dish cable into the cab? How did you secure your dish to the aluminum pipe? This won’t be a permanent install, at least not at the moment. It just sits on it, doesn’t really move around. I’ll probably zip tie the dish’s kickstand to the bar just to make sure it won’t slide sideways even though it shouldn’t. The soundbar puts the slightest bit of pressure to hold it against the roof. That being said I do have that headliner so without it it might not fit right enough to stay on it’s on. In that case you’d definitely want the zip tie.How did you secure your dish to the aluminum pipe?
