It took a few weeks to get parts in and what was suppose to be done in a day took ten, but my misbuilt 24 Mojave X is finally wearing its steel bumpers. Definitely like the looks and new capabilities if I ever winch it. I don’t know if misbuilds are common or not but make sure your new jeep comes with everything it’s suppose to.

Three weeks ago, tomorrow I acquired a new 2024 Mojave X. I didn't do this before driving it home, but once there, I took a refrigerator magnet and walked around the vehicle to see what was steel and what wasn't. It surprising how much of the vehicle that magnet will not stick to.

Fortunately, it does adhere to the bumpers.

Hood should be steel as well.

Wow, that's quite an oversite at the factory. Just had one car delivered missing something big. An Audi that was supposed to have antitheft motion sensors in the cab. They just ran out or something and skipped them, and could not add after the fact. Kind of bugged me so they gave me a nice dust cover and a couple other things . . .

Easiest way to tell the difference looking at them is all the bolt heads protruding from the steel bumper to bolt stuff to, or you can unbolt the ends if you want a stubby.

If the window sticker states the motion sensors are part of what you are buying I believe you could really make life hard on them if you wanted to, including having them buying it back if it came down to it. But if you're happy now thats what really matters.

If someone needs a magnet to know if the bumpers are steel then maybe a Jeep is the wrong vehicle for them.

You don't know that most Jeeps don't have steel bumpers? You don't know that most Jeeps that have steel bumpers have a line item on the window sticker charging extra for them? You don't know that a magnet is a quick and quite fool proof test for seeing is steel is present? Maybe a Jeep is the wrong vehicle for you.

Did you get the freedom panel bags mopar includes? I know you said in your other thread that the bluetooth radio/speaker was missing and they gave you one. On mine, that radio/speaker was in a large plastic bag along with the freedom panel bag, and some front license plate stuff. Glad to hear you got the steel bumpers, front and rear.

Yes sir, it had the big bag and have had the opportunity to use it a few times. The speaker they gave me while I was there was taken out of one of those plastic bags from another Jeep, I hope whoever buys that one checks before they go home. Somehow I ended up with 2 tool kits and 2 plastic pieces that cover the front windshield sensor. As far as I can tell everything now is how it was suppose to be from the factory and working properly.

Also just as quick to look at it or knock on it, but I guess that's not fool proof. 😆

Yeah, the took kit and sensor cover were also in my bag, only 1 of each though  Sounds like you got everything you were supposed to get, even though it took a while. Now go out and enjoy your new Mojave X.

I intentionally got a forged aluminum front bumper. lol

The winch plate is steel and HD and that’s more important to me.

You really need a magnet? Seriously? I guess you don't know Jeep bumper construction at all if you really need a magnet.

BTW - X packages 24 and later include steel bumpers.
one only has to LOOK to tell the difference - I can even tell from photos (as can almost any JLU or JT person)

First Jeep, I take it......... a check of these forums over the years will show which panels are aluminum alloy, which are steel, which other parts are what materials.
Keep a close watch on the paint on the door hinges, and so on.
