Well, not really, but let's pretend they do.

You would consider trading in your jeep for which one of these powerplants added to the next year models:

1)Hybrid

2)All electric

3)5.7 hemi V8

This assumes pricing is reasonable

Of.the choices we know the hybrid would be the 2.0t. Not up to the gladiator.
Full electric doesn't seem ready for full truck use yet. ( yeah rivian and cybertruck)
How about this.

I don't care about source or format

400 ft tq.
300 mile range.
(Refuel in the time to air up tires ( say 30 minutes) but near any off road trails. (I am not finding a charge station near ocala for example)
Has to be field serviceable ( i think electric could be but for the battery) maybe multiple banks fully isolated??

Has to be as reliable as the pentastar ( read that as you will but we can't have worse than today)

If the ram v6 generator with an electric motor is stable that would be my pick. Not that it would fit in a midsized.

Oh. Weight. I don't want a 7000 midsized for offroading

If it takes 30 minutes to air up, you must be one of those battery powered compressor guys. Buy something with 5+ cfm and it's 10 to 15 minutes if you're taking your time. As far as fast charging, the tech is already there. We just installed over 30 350-450kW chargers across 3 projects. That's nearly 3 times the output of a tesla supercharger. That's charging something like the riviam large pack (which gives a 400 mile range) in just 20 minutes. I'd rather not see the weight and complexity of an entire pentastar lugging around just as an on board generator especially in an offroad vehicle. If it's going to have a v6 I'll just keep the regular JT powertrain. Now if they add the new zf patented hybrid transmission that puts out 300ftlbs of torque in line with the 3.6L there's a hybrid powertrain I could get behind. If it's fully electric then I don't want gas and oil changes and 2 powertrains to maintain. The 5.7L would be great.

I would choose the 3.6, but it wasn't on the poll. Next best choice for a simple power plant is the Hemi 5.7. Since the hybrid is a 2.0 GDI Turbo, I don't want it. It works well enough in the Wrangler, but it wouldn't be something I can see really working that great in a Gladiator. The Hurricane fits the Gladiator, but I know from personal experience that it is not simple to work on.

5.7Hemi .. 6.4Hemi does not give enough range . Plenty of power but range is also needed .

The "hybrid" or 4xe will have more power and torque thanks to the new ZF transmission for the 2026.

3.6 is also fine for me. A hemi would be a waste since mine tows beautifully as it is - and all it would do is suck fuel. If I want a fuel-sucking blow all the others off the road V8, I'll drive my car. I don't know what use the extra power would be to me.
To me the V8 in a JT is a "why".
The PHEV version - that would be nice but I decided to jump now and not wait - it would be more expensive and my trade would be worth a whole lot less.
I'll wait until the JT 4xe with the new ZF is in year two and then decide.

I know I'm in the minority, but I traded my JT for a 4xe Wrangler. Only way I'll hop back in a JT is electrification of some sort. The power and torque is great and because my electricity is free, I'm not paying for fuel 85% of the time. I refuse to go back to paying for gas regularly.

In the poll I have chosen the Hemi because I love V8s. And I would even prefer an LS over the Hemi.

But, apart from the sound, I would see nothing what a V8 can do better than my EcoDiesel.
In my opinion a bad decision to ditch that engine.
