Spring is here and Summer around the corner. Hopefully they can move some more units.

Part of the chat with Scott at the dealership was staffing to meet busy times but not over-staffing so people sit when it's slow, staff required for this or that, what their busy times were not so busy - and the weather. This past few months has been crazy for a lot of the country. I'm sure people have had other things in mind with floods, fires, blizzards and so on. For them, with the break in the weather here, more people go out and "browse" or "window shop". Mondays, Fridays and especially Saturdays being their busiest. Sales staff, aside from Sunday, get to choose Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday as their other day off.

If you look at every manufacturers truck sales for Q1 - they’re probably all down about the same amount In comparison to themselves for last year.

I’d be more curious to see if truck sales ‘overall’ (all brands) have dropped over the years and car sales have increased. It’s one thing to have competition between the brands… It’s something totally different when generations of younger folks only want cars and fancy SUV’s…… and how that population gap changes “Who buys trucks and at what ages” kinda thing.

I know, I know…. too deep. People get paid big bucks to look at all that shit.

Not even close. Do we just make stuff up here?

Ford truck sales are up 15% over Q1 last year. GM truck sales are up 11%. Toyota's are up 53% (*). Together these three sold 18% more trucks in Q1 2025 vs Q1 2024.

In mid-size trucks, Ranger, Colorado and Canyon combined sales are up 123%. Toyota sold 65,821 Tacomas in Q1 2025 vs 21,558 in Q1 last year.

I realize the Ford Maverick is more of a compact truck (not a mid-size), but it's also killing it in sales.

Yeah some of them definitely do just to hear themselves talk about things they don't really understand.

From what I see - FULL SIZE trucks are doing well, save for Ram, but smaller trucks are not doing so well. Full size Toyotas are doing ok - Tundra, but Tacoma not as well.
People are buying trucks - but HD and full size trucks, not smaller trucks so much.

What? The 'smaller' trucks are selling really well. The Ford Maverick is selling like hot cakes!

Wow the Maverick is doing great and it’s not even a real truck??? All one body like the previous Honda “truck” ?

I love my JT but I kinda think of it as not a real truck. Bought it cuz I’m a Jeep nut and wanted it!! One of the few Jeep models I have not had out of 28! Yup I did say Jeep “nut” !!!

Go Jeep!!!

I get paid to look at all that shit, Stellantis, in general, is down more than most, and down more than GM or Ford flatly.

They're down in every segment, and every powertrain configuration.

Stellantis was priced wrong for the market, and waited way to long to react to the market.

Have to LOL thinking about the replies I got just a few months ago when I told folks huge discounts were coming by the end of January and sales were poor.

People have a very rough time separating their feelings from facts, fanboyism is real.
