What’s work?
I'd be interested to know what percentage of sales are for fleet/rental versus personal use.
The gold mines around here have bought some for their underground operations. They just buy the generic base models with the diesel, required to have diesel underground. Have seen two that have flatbeds on them here at the dealer, I don’t know how many they have for sure. Not just here either, watched some videos during MSHA training and miners are driving them at other sites also. They pulled all the doors, tops and laid the windshield down, drive around in the drifts with the trucks. Low fleet count, not on the order of law enforcement or large contractors but it is a fleet.

What is kind of a surprise to me is the strong Nissan Frontier sales showing. I think that is the value proposition they are holding now.
Value is where the market growth is right now ... think of the recent success of the Chevy Trax. Not a great time for Stellantis' strategy of prioritizing higher transaction prices, especially coupled with pretty lackluster interest rates compared to automakers with in-house financing like GM Financial. Stellantis has to put significant money on the hood to even be competitive right now.

My wife has one single complaint about her 4xe - she wishes it would do at least some better than 20-25 miles on battery - but she doesn't want a pure EV - the PHEV concept is one she really likes.
In short, she loves it, but would like maybe 30-40 miles out of the battery.

Too bad that's not broken down by model year, that it's just any new sales that quarter. The 24s, according to our dealers here, are selling well (maybe because they have no 23s to sell?)
It will be interesting to see how the 24 Gladiators do. While the changes were not monumental, the improvements may better justify the price.

The most magical part of what’s posted here is the 40% increase to Jeep renegade sales….. they gave me one of these as a loaner…. Not to shine any additional light on my kids privilege or anything…. But both my 9&11 year old made fun of this thing…. ? Honda civic powered marshmallow….

Have to mention that Toyota slow played the '24 Tacomas in the first quarter, too.

Production wasn't ramped up until late in the quarter and the hybrid Tacos are still vaporware but on the horizon.

Supposedly they're announcing the MSRP and allocations on them in the next week, along with the new 4Runner they've been teasing.
Certainly.

All mfg. line changes. I ordered 2 Tacomas in the past, build orders open is Aug-Sept. window and typically see late delivery in Oct-Nov.

Tacoma's Q3 sales were between 50-60k vehicles, which would include the remainder of their MY 23 production.

MY 24s started deliveries about 2 months behind the previous years, in January of 2024. So there would be a stock shortage for sure. Q2 numbers will be a lot more indicative of their real sales.

Toyota guys are hard to sway, I know cause it took me years to finally jump ship. IMO the JT has the best value right now with the discounts available and the fact that the 24 Tacomas are retailing close to 5k more optioned similarly than their 23 predecessors. I doubt this sales trend will change though due to that dedicated mindset that Toyota owners sometimes have.

FWIW my 2016 Tacoma, first MY run, was bought back by Toyota.

Ranger & Tacoma will knock the JT's peepee in the dirt now that they are getting production going on the new models.
Gladiator desperately needs a powertrain upgrade. (2.0L 4xe won't be it)

You're not kidding. I happened to swing by a Toyota dealer today just to see if there were any 24's for the hell of it. There was a TRD on the lot with a 6 foot bed. As a 1G Taco owner, I'm a little surprised that the new ones still have shitty seats... but at least have lumbar adjustment. It was fairly bare bones. The JT has more comfortable seats than the Taco.

I think a MY23 JTM or JTR is a real value right now for certain. But the 24s really aren't- yet. When I get in the market over the summer, I'm leaning hardest towards a JTMX but that price tag is a hard pill to swallow. The only other truck I'm considering is the Trailhunter.

Tacoma seats are almost like a long standing joke on the Tacoma forums. Toyota took until 2019 or 2020 to add height adjustment to the seats.

My 2018 had lumbar support, but not like the JT has. The lumbar support in my Mojave actually surprised me since Im used to them feeling like an after thought. Mild scoliosis, so its something I actually appreciate.

Their fabric has always been pretty terrible IMO.

Lumbar support in my 04 came from a bolster I bought at the local medical supply house.

That's the thing that frosts me the most- my 1990 4R with the sport seats were comfortable. Decent bolsters, decent support. Lots of long road trips and daily driving with no issues. My Tacoma that was essentially the same inside as that 4R? Dog shit. I tried to take the seats out of the 4R and swap into the Taco but that wasn't happening.

The JTM is surprisingly solid on the seats front. I road tripped one for 1700+ miles in Cali last year and was very impressed overall.

Correct. The Q2, Q3 and Q4 figures will not be kind for the JT.

Imagine what their (GM) sales could be if they’d only fix the valve train issue In their V8’s.

These sales figures are not flattering.

While Jeep is up 2%, the overall market is up 5.5%. Worse, Stellantis as a whole is down 10%.

More factoids:
  1. Hyundai-Kia outsold Stellantis by 44,000 units
  2. Stellantis outsold Honda by a mere 1,000 units
  3. Jeep outsold Subaru by only 4,000 units
  4. Ram, the other pillar of Stellantis sales and profits, fell by 26%
On the plus side, while Wrangler sales are up slightly, Bronco sales are down 26%.

The Ford dealership up the road had a loaded out New Ford Ranger Raptor for 11k over MSRP last weekend. It is gone now.

Who the hell pays over. Nuts to me. Even more sad is 99% will only see pavement
