I have said it I programed it off .. I think my honest dislike of it might stem from driving shit box with a manual in traffic growing up .. I guess it might be kinda like a PTSD lol

Clearly it annoys you that people don't like it.But it irritates them, makes them angry, it's annoying!
(so is half the world, including all of the evening news, almost all facebook posts, most of the drivers on the road, and so on)
Our constitution guarantees us the right to not be annoyed!
My reaction to a T.I think my honest dislike of it might stem from driving shit box with a manual in traffic growing up .. I guess it might be kinda like a PTSD lol
what about people that know everything about the button?Clearly it annoys you that people don't like it.
I'm not sure whats more annoying, having to push the button, people complaining about pushing the button, or people complaining about people complaining about pushing the button.
A quick AI search reveals that the F-150, some other Fords, Some Subarus and BMW’s also can do this. Although not listed Porsche‘s can be disabled as well.….l
Name the list of cars/trucks where it remembers the last setting. I'm not finding many that do this, only a small handful, European market mostly.
I’ve mentioned this before, but sometime around 2016, they changed the rules so that the ESS button resets after every shutdown. My 2015 Porsche is grandfathered in and retains its ESS memory(and has been “OFF” for the last ten years).A quick AI search reveals that the F-150, some other Fords, Some Subarus and BMW’s also can do this. Do you think the EPA is going to remove the ESS from your Jeep?I'm glad they are doing this. I bought the SmartStartStop for $120 and am happy with my purchase. I'll keep it installed until this gets changed by Jeep.
It won't get changed on existing vehicles. You can count on that.I'm glad they are doing this. I bought the SmartStartStop for $120 and am happy with my purchase. I'll keep it installed until this gets changed by Jeep.
Yes, one has to take into account model year - as well as other factors. It's not a simple "add it and get this" thing.I’ve mentioned this before, but sometime around 2016, they changed the rules so that the ESS button resets after every shutdown. My 2015 Porsche is grandfathered in and retains its ESS memory(and has been “OFF” for the last ten years).
Well stated, Pragmatically. 100%EXACTLY.
The precious Jeeps people have and complain about the ESS would likely not exist were it not for these "cheat" or "credits".
Jeep can't survive without it. If you want Jeep to keep on living, you will just have to adapt and accept that in order to survive, they must sell to a global market and either do what's necessary, or pay massive fines year after year and fold, go away.
There's no AMC to come along and save them this time, and no Iacocca to come along and save them again. It's the end of the line - survive or don't survive.
Yeah, glad you maybe saw I'm not "all for it", not "all in", but I understand where it's coming from.Well stated, Pragmatically. 100%
That said, my family is constantly seeking out ways to minimize government intrusion into our personal lives, personal property, and businesses.
We didn't dedicate some 27+ years of our lives in the US Military to put up with these misguided, often blatantly incorrect, bureaucratic intrusions that go against well-established logistics and sustainment practices.
In words, our personal and business Freedoms are paramount. We support rolling back excessive regulations for citizens and businesses. Such is the case here.
Rule of unintended consequences.
